CoverGirl LineExact Liquid Eyeliner Review

Quick View: I lobe the "Exact" line of CoverGirl Mascaras and I like CoverGirl products in general so it was a gimme that I would like CoverGirl LineExact Liquid Eyeliner. Only I don't. The pen dries out very quickly and is only so so when it's at its best.

About CoverGirl LineExact Liquid Eyeliner

This eyeliner comes in a little pen with a felt tipped applicator. The tip is very thin and precise. It comes in four shades: Very Black, Smoke, Black-Brown, and Brown. I had a BOGO coupon for this liner so I picked up two in Very Black because I don't like the other shades.

At first, the liner WAS very black. It was pretty easy to line my eyes but the line was super thin and not very noticeable. It seemed to stay on pretty well but it wasn't a liner that lasted for a zillion hours like Blinc's Kiss Me Liquid Liner.

After about five uses, my CoverGirl LineExact Liquid Eyeliner started to look grey instead of black. It was hard to get the line to be smooth and not skip. I shook the pen and pushed on the top of the felt tip hoping to extract more liner but all I got was a faint grey line. Because I had a brand new one waiting to be opened, I didn't get too upset.  I assumed I got a bad or old tube. It happens. The second tube lined darkly and I was OK with it. It certainly wasn't my first liner choice but it worked for casual daytime outings.

But again, the pen ran out super fast. I found myself pushing on the tip and pulling at the delicate skin around my eyes to get some semblance of color out of the pen. I tossed both pens away and won't use CoverGirl LineExact Liquid Eyeliner again. It's not super expensive but there are so so so many other liners out there that I don't need to buy something I only just think is OK at its best and that runs out really quickly.

My Viewpoint

I know most of the other reviewers here like this liner and I sure wish I could join them in saying i did. I love CoverGirl's Volume Exact Mascara, LashExact Mascara, and LashBlash Mascara and can't believe how much I DON'T like the same company's Line Exact Liquid Eyeliner. 2 stars. It may work great for you but I won't be buying this liner again.
