The Marriott Pittsburgh Downtown was a great place for my family to stay while exploring Pittsburgh. The rooms were very comfortable, and seemed quite a bit larger than usual. It's in a renovated older building, and the ceilings are at least 10 feet high, maybe more, which contributed to the feeling of space. The full breakfast service on the main floor was convenient for a family with kids; the buffet was half price for kids 12 and under, and included prepared-to-order waffles and eggs as well as other hot items, including sausage and bacon. Wait staff were extremely attentive and helpful.... read full review »

The Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Pittsburgh is a fairly new, extremely convenient property. The entire downtown area, Convention Center and Strip District are all within easy walking distance. Public transportation is extensive and easily accessible. Skip the $17 shuttle, the $65 cab ride and the $22 auto storage fee and take the $2.25 Airport Flyer with a stop just one block from the front door.

Money Savers: Short Walk, The Strip District, site of former steel mills is now an arts & entertainment district. Ride across the river on the "T" to Station Square for nightlife, dining, shopping &...

I really enjoyed my stay at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Pittsburgh. The staff were very friendly, and I thought the hotel was gorgeous. It was smaller, but almost had a boutique feel to it. The rooms were great, with high ceilings, large bathrooms, plenty of room in the main area, and free ethernet. There were also great amenities, such as a real hairdryer (not those useless ones you usually find in hotel bathrooms), an iron & ironing board, and much more. Overall, it was very comfortable and accommodating.

Dining: In Hotel, The restaurant connected to the Courtyard Marriott was delicious!...

The Courtyard was very comfortable, the stay was more than what I was expecting. When you walking in the staff greet you very warmly. The rooms are more than perfect. It was so nice and clean and the very was outstanding. Living in Pittsburgh is one thing but to look at the city from the veiw that I was at made me love my city even more. Being able to sit in the window ledge is something that I have never done before. I'm sorry that I only stayed for one night and that I had to go home. I can't wait to go back.

Shopping: Short Walk, the Fifth Avenue center is about threee block away. Then...

Courtyard by Mariott in Downtown Pittsburgh was full of friendly people who answered questions and suggested sites to see. The free shuttle service was an especially nice bonus. Our king room had an uncomfortable fold out couch. So that was a bit unpleasant, and the curtains didn't shut, so the room didn't get dark.

Nightlife: Short Drive, The Strip District had plenty of bars. I recommend Deja Vu for upscale dining and clubbing. The Boardwalk has several clubs for one cover charge. Use the hotel shuttle to get you there.

The Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Pittsburgh was a very comfortable, friendly hotel. It was evident that the building had been repurposed with many of the original architectural features (including 16+ foot ceilings) still intact. I traveled for business, and appreciated the expansive desk provided, high-speed internet access, and easy breakfast buffet that was included in the price point I'd selected. If I have to go back to visit this client's office again, I'll definitely check back into the Courtyard.

From the check-in to the guy that had all my paperwork ready when I left. Everyone was very helpful. The room was GORGEOUS, spacious, and most importantly... CLEAN. Dining-in choices were kind of limited ($12 for a cheeseburger? C'mon!), and the neighborhood was exactly one to go roaming for quaint restaurants - but if you need a room close to the all the downtown meeting spaces, this is the place.

The hotel was very nice and in a good location to downtown. The room was great, but the only problem was parking. You either had to pay $22 a day for valet parking or park at a city owned garage. ($5 overnight on the weekends) There was one about a block away on the same street and another on the street over and then about a block down.

This hotel was clean and neat. The room was comfortable and pleasing. The towels were rough. The location of the hotel is right downtown so not a lot to walk to at night.

Entertainment: Short Walk, Warhol Museum
