I have been traveling to Carolina Beach, NC with my family for 10 years now - once or twice a year. We love this area and would recommend it to anyone. The area is very family friendly with less of the "party" "spring break" type atmosphere. The Courtyard by Marriott was a blessing when it was built a few years ago. There were no hotel chains on this beach or oceanfront in the area; we do prefer the hotel chains versus the independently owned places to stay (better quality and cleanliness). The Courtyard is a little too expensive during the busy travel season, but they do have very reasonable rates during the off season, if you are able to slip away during that time. The rooms are always clean and the staff always friendly; the amenities are great as well - exercise room, indoor/outdoor pool, OCEANFRONT, Wi-Fi, and more! The only cons I would have to say are not enough parking and the price; other than that...this hotel is awesome.
