Countrywide Home Loan Company —

After years of having our loan "safely" mortgaged at our credit union, we stupidly took a risk and went with a company we heard about on a local Christian radio station - big mistake. It had a ARM attached to it that almost killed us. When it kicked it - it kicked us in a big way - dramatically.
Fortunately, I guess, a broker phoned us and got us hooked up with Countrywide. A wonderful appraiser came out and we were set...everything went smoothly. There have been no problems...until we decided we wanted to borrow a little more money to add on a laundry room where our deck is.
This appraiser:
  1. Did not add our finished room in our basement.
  2. Did not get the square footage right.
  3. Said our bathroom floor was "vinyl"; when one is tile and one is wood laminate.
  4. Said our walls were all "drywall", when our den is beautiful paneling, the downstairs bedroom/playroom is paneling, we have wallpaper in the downstairs bath, master bedroom, kitchen, and dining room.
As a result, she compared our home to that of 3 bedroom homes; instead of 4 bedroom homes and appraised it at $50,000 less than the last appraiser.
When I contacted Countrywide with these differences, they told me there was nothing they could do about it...unbelievable...!

I don't know that much about "country Wide", but my husband had been drugging me with liquid morphine & molesting my granddaughter I have had custody of since she was 4 months old, & our lender was citifinancial that merged with citimortgage, they would not give me time to prove my income & sold my home right away! I have sufficient income, we had over $4,000. per month coming in, & I had to have reconstructive surgery on my foot & leg in 2006, & was doing great walking, driving etc. I kept thinking I needed therapy. He had us in a chapter 13, ruined my credit, he has 2 open bank accounts that are overdrawn, & closed they are coming after me, they read the papers, & one took his name off the account. I don't think that's legal. I got off the subject, I'm sorry, Citifinancial, citimortgage, would not give me the time to prove my income & to prove it, I had to obtain a divorce. He was retired military, & a supervisor at a nursing home. I explained the situation to them, they sent a letter to him, before finding out he was inJail, wanting to work with him, telling him he was qualified for a rework loan, but when it came to me the answer was NO. I just couldn't do it in a month & a half. I was in shock, had a nervous break down, & they had a sign in my yard stating they were selling my home, they didn't advise me they were going to buy it. The government just GAVE Citi group 25 million dollars, I wrote them & ask if they would like to finance a home for me, because no one else would now!
