My husband and I have stayed in other Country Inns and have really enjoyed our stay there so when our daughter turned 16, we decided to have a sleepover at the local Country Inn for her and her friends.  We thought it would be nice for the girls to be able to swim and visit in the luxury of a hotel for the afternoon and evening.  Well, when we arrived at the hotel, the pool was closed because of a problem.  The girls were able to get in the pool briefly later in the evening, but the next morning they once again went to the pool to find it closed for repair.  I felt that fact that the pool was down made splurging on a hotel very disappointing.  I believe that when there is a problem such as this and it is brought to the attention of the hotel that that is the reason you have come to this hotel, a discount should be given or a voucher to return for free at a later time.  That would be service.  This happened to us one other time at a different hotel and there the pool never did open.
