A Sweet Spread That Doesn't Destroy Bread
When I make toast I usually microwave the butter for a couple of seconds to soften it so that it doesn't destroy the toast. I like to use margarine because it is soft but I still haven't found one that doesn't have a fake taste to it. When I saw that Country Crock had a honey infused spread I had to try it; sometimes I add cinnamon and sugar to my toast, other times I like a little bit of honey drizzled over it but that usually means everything gets sticky from the honey. The taste was a lot better than I expected; it wasn't overly sweet but you could definitely taste the honey. It spreads like a regular margarine and you can use it on anything from pancakes to toast. Unlike the other Country Crock margarine spreads that are sold in the large containers, this is in a small six ounce tub. If you try it and like it then chances are you are going to be buying it every couple of weeks because it doesn't last all that long. A suggested serving is one tablespoon; that contains 70 calories, 6 grams of fat, 45 milligrams of sodium, 3 grams of carbohydrates and no protein. While this isn't any better for you than regular butter it does have a great taste to it and it spreads perfectly. There are only two stores in my area that stock this so it is a little hard to find but when I come across it I buy it because it is a nice change of pace for toast, muffins, banana bread and pancakes.
