I was always taught that journalism should be "centered"; neither left or right.  Just report the facts and let the public make up their own mind.  What Rush Limbaugh is to Right Winged ultra-conservative talk radio - this man is to ultra-liberal Left Winged TV.

I actually heard this man compare John McCain to Fascist Adolf Hitler!  Isn't that pushing things way too far Keith?  Report on the man's political views & positions.  Then let the people decide.  A political commentary is one thing; lies and untruths will come back and bite you in the A**!  Remember - at one time Rush even had a show on TV.  That didn't last.

For those thinking right now, "This guy (me) has to be a republican." - WRONG!  I'm neither.  I never have voted a straight ticket in my life and probably never will.  I learned a long time ago, with a bit of humor, from my Dad about politics.  I asked my Dad if he was a Democrat or Republican.  He said - "Neither, I vote for whoever I think will do the best job."  Then I asked him who was his favorite president.  He said it was a tie between Truman & Eisenhower.  This shocked me...one was a Democrat, the other a Republican; and back to back in office to boot.  Dad stated, "When Truman was in office, and something needed to be done, he did it.  By the time Eisenhower took over, everything was running smoothly and not too much needed to be done.  So, that's what he did...not too much."  I rolled on the floor laughing.  Of course, Dad was joking too, knowing that it was Eisenhower who initiated our system of Interstate Highways we now enjoy today.

Grow up Mr. Olbermann.  Don't blame every mistake of George W. Bush on John McCain.  Just because both are Republicans doesn't mean they are 100% identical in their thinking.  George W. Bush will most likely go down in history as one of the biggest "do nothing" presidents this country has ever seen.  John McCain was a naval aviator, a P.O.W. and a hero in my eyes.  And, by the way Mr. Olbermann, in case you didn't notice - America - even California, still believes in family values.  San Francisco voted down a bill that would allow legalizing prostitution.  California, as a state, voted down gay marriage.

I didn't vote for Mr. Obama.  But, there's one difference between myself and Keith Olbermann.  I still respect the man in office - whoever he might be.  I may not agree with him, (the president) I may not like him - but I still respect him.

In response to JDories's comment from Dec 9, 2008 at 8:50PM:

My whole point is the news is not "centered" anymore. Everyone takes an ultra left-wing or right-wing position. I noticed your reply to me is exactly the same as your review. But, you're reply to me came first. I guess it fianlly dawned on your left-winged brain that it would count as a review.

Olbermann is a hero! With the Corporate media dominance that cheered us into war with Iraq (in the lead up to the war the main three stations had 496 experts saying we should go in and only 4 saying we shoudn't - liberal media my butt!) - Olbermann was the only main voice on TV holding the Bush administration accountable! His brother died in 9-11, yet he was against going into Iraq and the president called anyone that did not want to go a coward - that is when he unleashed his unabashed Lefty and did us all a public service!

After all, if we had listened to Olbermann, we would not have spent 750 Billion dollars (over 2 trillion when you ad helping the soldiers for life), killed 100,000 innocent Iraqi's, killed almost 5,000 American troops, over 1000 American contractors, and maimed over 50,000 American troops! If people would of listened to him instead of Fox Noise (and the so called lefty media that cheerleaded us into war), we would be a lot safer, have a better standing in the world, and not be in the horrendous mess we are in.

Yes he is lefty, but he admits it unlike FOX who pretends to be "Fair and Balanced". As long as the commentator is honest about their slant, then there is nothing wrong with editorials and opinions, unlike Bill O'Reilly who claims "No Spin Zone" and that he is an "independent" at the very same time he is reading the White House talking points...

So, yes, Olbermann goes over the line once in awhile, but he is real and admits that his show is an editorial, not a News broadcast, unlike the fake news channel!

Olbermann used to do sports here in L.A. When he first appeared, he had one eyebrow that went clear across his forehead. (But, he DID have two eyes). Keith loves his attention, bigtime.
