Costa Cruises - Mediterranea Mediterrian Review

    I took this cruise for a special occassion.  I was so disappointed in the comfort and service on board. 

    First the room.  There was a spring sticking out of the mattress.  The pillows were so flat.  The covers were ripped and sown back together.  The sheets looked like they had not been washed.  Our cabin steward changed mid-trip.  The stewards tried to make our stay pleasant.  However, the stewards did not have the best supplies to start with.

    Second the laundry fiasco.  I sent my jeans to be washed.  After 36 hours I asked my steward if I could receive my jeans by the time our next excursion left.  I did not have any clean jeans left.  For 6 hours I begged for my jeans back.  The jeans did not show up before we left.  And on our return 6 hours later, the jeans were still missing.  At which time I lost all respect for the cruise lines service.  Finally my jeans were returned to me 2 1/2 days after I sent them to the laundry.

    Third billing errors.  To add insult to injury, the laundry charge for my jeans were charged to my friends bill.  When we requested the switch, the ship representative asked if I could not just give the money to my cabin mate so the rep did not have to do anything.  After stating that it would take her along time to fix, the rep came back in two minutes and stated everything was taken care of.  And let's not get into the excursion our group was charged for twice.

    However, the excursions were very well put together.  Lots of facts and sights to see with entertaining tour guides.  And the on-board entertainment was the best cruise line entertainment I have experienced so far.  And one customer service representative, who's name I wish I could remember did go the extra mile when I needed help with a souvenir shipping problem.  I truly appreciated the help without the hassle.
