Cosco Scenera Review

For the price you pay this car seat is great. It costs about $40. I use it for my two year old. He's been using it for about 18 months now. He grew out of his infant seat at 10 months and after careful research we bought the Cosco Scenera carseat. We used it rear facing until he was 18 months. By then his legs were too long and they got squished up. We now have it forward facing. It is a good seat. Not as cushy as some I've seen. The cover is washable and it holds up well in the washing machine. It's got an ugly pattern though. I wish it came in cuter colors and patterns. I think that my son will outgrow it in the height before he actually outgrows the weight. The shoulder strap slots don't go much higher.

This seat has kind of a tall base on the bottom. It's not removable. I drive a van so I have a lot of head room, but in a compact car it might make the seat sit up too high and interfere with the drivers sight out the rear of the vehicle. Also it might make the baby's head too close to the ceiling of the car.

Before I purchased it I spoke with some car seat experts. They said if you can't afford a Britax car seat then this is the next safest seat around.
