The Alpha Omega Elite car seat is bit more exensive when compared to single function seats. However, in the long run, it saves money. It is very easy to use, and lasts from infant to preschool as a belt positioning booster. The seat has a really neat base that allows it to recline, and eventually comes off to be a booster. I washes well, and it is easily and quickly put back together. We primarily use the latch system in our own car, but when we use a different vehicle it is easy to install with a standard seat belt. You don't have to flatten your hand, either, as with another seat we have owned. The belt can be seen under the cover, which is attached with electic loops. I checked out safety ratings before purchasing the seat, and the research is very promising. We have not been in any type of crash, but the foam is the "EPS" foam and is very thick around the head and neck. It is very easy to adjust the height and the length of the belts, all on the front of the seat without uninstalling it. I have recommended this seat to friends. It comes in cute fabrics and is well worth the money.
