Cosco Alpha Elite Car Seat Review Summary

Considered by reviewers as a “one stop car seat,” the Cosco Alpha Omega Elite is a convertible car seat designed to fit children from 5-100 pounds. With an easy to use adjustable head rest, and a durable design that will last for years, reviewers overwhelmingly agree that the Alpha Omega Elite has been the best choice for their little ones. Many parents state their child looks very comfortable in [the Alpha Omega]” but there are varying opinions on how well children enjoyed riding in the seat. Additionally, as a multi-purpose car seat, the Alpha Omega Elite is quite bulky. You won’t be fitting three of these in the backseat, but it does fit rear-facing in smaller cars. Overall owners of the Alpha Omega feel it is “just as safe” as more expensive seats and “well worth the price since it holds up for such a long time.” Check out reviews on other convertible car seats to make a comparison.

I have been very happy with this car seat. After hours of research I bought this for my son when he turned one. He is very comfortable in it. To adjust the shoulder straps you do not have to remove the straps from the seat. There are levers that you turn to lower or raise the straps. Then… read full review »

We bought this seat at Sears for my son, who had outgrown his infant carseat. No matter how we adjusted it, he just could not get comfortable. He would get finicky for the shortest rides and always looked like he was being pushed forward. We adjusted the seat placement in the car, the straps, many… read full review »

When I first realized that my daughter was never going to make it to her first birthday in her infant carrier I started on a hunt for the perfect carseat. I drive a small car, so finding a seat that was going to fit rearfacing was a bit challenging. I also was working on a very tight budget at the time. I saw this seat online and it had pretty good reviews but I wanted to see it in person before I would purchase it. The seat looks very bulky but it is not as bulky as some other seats I looked at and the price does not require a bulky wallet. It fits perfect in my Ford Focus when it is… read full review »

This car seat definitely has some drawbacks, but overall, it's worth the effort.  I used two of these seats for about 4 years, and I wouldn't have traded them for anything! — The seat is a little difficult to install, and bulky, but once it's in, you can be confident your child is safe.  The optional heat support, padded bar restraint, shoulder harness and degree of recline are all adjustable, meaning the seat fits your child, instead of trying to fit the child to the seat.  This is important because the seat is meant to be used for toddlers on up, and that's exactly what… read full review »

This was a great find our one year old daughter loves it. I think it makes her feel like a big girl. We decided to purchase this seat due to the fact it should be the last one we need to buy. It is one of the few seats that is convertible from birth to 100 lbs. I also love the adjustable head rest. This seat can not be beat for the price and versatility.… read full review »

Doesn't fit in a small car well - like a toyota corolla in my case - It doesn't have enough room to recline and my babys head was always on her chest .. I got rid of this a few weeks after I bought it and bought a graco car seat that worked much better in my car.… read full review »

We have purchased 3 Alpha Omega seats over the years, and will soon be purchasing another.  Our 2 oldest children (8 and 5 yrs) are now using the seats as boosters, without the base, and our 3rd child (3 yrs) is still in the seat with the base. — The fact that the cupholder only fits on the one side is a bit of a nuisance, and we did not use our cupholder until recently when we shuffled our seats around in the truck to accomodate the new baby.  It is nice that it comes with one at all, however, as the older seats did not. — The seats are rather wide, even as… read full review »

Because I was not happy with the infant car seat I purchased, I checked out a ton of different car seats before buying this one.  I looked at an endless amount of reviews on-line.  I also checked out Consumer Reports, which didn't have ratings on many but they did rate this one excellent.  That was what sold me on it.  Now all I had to do was find the best price.  I  was just about ready to purchase it form Wal-Mart (the cheapest place I could find it @ about $150) when I remembered one more place I wanted to check.  Boy am I… read full review »

I did not register for this car seat; I did not ask for this car seat.  It was given to me and I was unable to return it to the store (I did not believe it to have a good enough reputation to meet my standards of safety for my 1st child).  Because I carpool daily (45 minutes each way), I reluctantly kept the seat to have the convenience of leaving one seat in my carpooler's car and one seat in my own car.  —  That all being said, I have been using this car seat for the past two months and now believe it is just as high of quality as my Evenflo Titan.  It is… read full review »

I received this car seat as a present when my daughter was a baby. It works for babies to toddlers. This is very bulky so it takes up a lot of room. Even If you have a large car there is no way three children can fit side by side in the back seat with three of these car seats. The bar that goes down over the head makes me feel my child is more protected in a crash from flying out of the car seat. This is very easy to adjust but is horrible to take apart and wash and put back together. My daughter gets motion sickness a lot so it makes it even more difficult on us to have to wash… read full review »

I absolutely love this car seat.  The straps are easy to adjust and set-up was pretty easy. I bought it when my baby turned one, so I have no idea whether it is as good in a rear-facing position.  One of the best features is the recline feature. It reclines really well so that my daughter can sleep so comfortably and her head isn't hanging to the side.  I haven't tried clean the material yet, but the colors of pink and brown are beautiful.  I love all the extra padding.  I feel so confident that my daughter is comfortable in it.  From the moment we bought it, she… read full review »

We bought this car seat on the recommendation of friends.  I was a bit leary of paying so much for a car seat, because I am very money conscious.  However, knowing that I could use this for a good amount of time made me feel better.  It has been worth the money!  The child can see out the window, is more comfortable with the safety belts that on other car sears we have, and the color of the fabric makes it harder to see any stains that happen!  I have recommended this car seat to friends, as I think it is also durable.  It has been worth the money to us. … read full review »

We have had an Alpha Omega since child #3. We bought it hoping to save money in the long run between a baby seat then a toddler seat. We loved that it was easy to adjust and that we felt our children where safer in this seat. The newer buckles are a lot easier then the older set up they had. We just bought our 3rd Alpha omega when #6 was born in August. The material is fairly easy to keep and get clean. DON'T try to squeeze these seats in a compact car though--very unsafe. But if you have a minivan or bigger (maybe even a full-size car)(check with your safety seat person for sure) —… read full review »

This car seat is quite nice for the price. I am always looking to balance quality with price. And this is where the balance is. It fits nicely in my Grand Caravan middle row captain's seat. When  we had it rear facing it reclined far enough so that when the little guy fell asleep, his head could actually stay laying back, not falling forward into his chest. When it is forward facing it seems very comfortable for him and there is still enough leg room between the carseat and the seat in front of him so that my older kids can slide by without struggling and squeezing… read full review »

We purchased this particular car seat for my daughter after she outgrew the infant seat. We liked it so much that we purchased another one for my son! It was nice to have a car seat that came from a trusted manufacturer. The seat itself was easy to install into our SUV and also our van. Now that my oldest daughter has outgrown the seat, we still use it for our son and our youngest daughter. I like being able to easily adjust the straps. Especially, in the fall/spring time when sometimes extra layers are required! We have been very pleased with this car… read full review »
