I found 'Corner Gas' by accident, and I fell in love with it after just the first viewing.  The way so many series suddenly disappear from TV-schedules, we purchased the first 4 seasons on DVD, just in case.

The characters and relationships are very believable -- there are situations that would seem very ordinary, but this show pulls it off.  Unlike American comedies that may have a main plot line and one sub-plot, this show usually has at least 3.  There is never anything said that I would feel uncomfortable explaining to any of my young grandchildren.

Canada, your secret is out! If you like quirky "group of friends" type comedies, you'll like Corner Gas. The show is fresh, funny, and one of the best shows on American television (I envy you Canadians). The comedy has touches of sarcasm without being over bearingly ascerbic, and the situations are unusual but not entirely unbelievable. The acting is so great that when I see Corner Gas actors in other movies, I frequently expect them to behave like their Corner Gas character (Emma in 2002's Rollerball?!?). If you like Seinfeld, Friends, or It's Always Sunny in Philedelphia, check out Corner Gas... read full review »

Great half hour of hilarious Canadian fun.  Set in a VERY small town in the middle of nowhere.  The story centers around a gas station in Dog River run by Brent LeRoy (Brent Butt also executive producer among other numerour credits).  Dog River is a typical small town where everyone makes everyone else's business their own.  You can meet the characters and even buy DVDs & other Corner Gas goodies or play "The Perfect Pump" game at CornerGas.com. It's only on Chicago's Superstation WGN. There is a schedule on their website.

Every once in a while, you feel as lost as Hank.

These are some of the most colorful characters I have seen in a long time.  It's kinda like a warmer, friendlier Northern Exposure(not as pretentious).  At first, I didn't know what to think, hence - "WTF?".  Now I am addicted!  Great job!
