A recent ight with Copa to Buenos Aires required a transfer in Panama. When I checked in at the gate at Panama they informed me that they had over booked the flight by 12 people. After waiting 30 minutes I asked what was happening. They informed me that they changed my flight to another one set for 7 hours later. They didn´t even bother to consult me. They made the change and left it at that. After a lot of heated discussion, I managed to convince them that it was important that I was on that flight in order toconnect with homeward flight to Australia. They simply changed someone else´s flight and issued me a boarding pass and said nothing to nobody. Not even the person who´s ticket they changed mine for. Five minutes before the flight was actually due to leave, I once again, asked what was happening. They then informed me that there was a problem with the flight and it was delayed for 4 hours. Again, no announcement or communication to any of the passengers. After that, the real fun began. However, for the sake of cutting the story short, lets suffice to say that many many people were enraged and at no times did they even make a signle announcement on the PA until the plane finnally left 6 hours later than scheduled.
Conclusion, just hope there are no problems with your Copa flight because if things go off track the staff are completely incompetant at communicating to the passengers or resolving issues. If you have the option, definately choose another ailine. COPA is as useless as they get.
