Horrible tires.

1

I moved to the north several years ago and the first thing I did was purchase tires for the wintery conditions. I saw these tires and thought they would be perfect for traction in the snow. They had snow in the name of the tires and I figured you could not go wrong with tires designed for the snow while driving in the snow. This product does not stand up to their name. The tread on the tires is non-directional which means that the slush of melting snow and ice can get caught in the tread. This not only breaks down the tread, but it makes it absolutely useless while trying to keep traction. I cannot believe that this company would make the tread in a manner that would make it easier to get snow and ice stuck in it! I had better traction on my 3 year old tires then I did with these tires after just a few days of use. After losing control of my vehicle several times with these tires I took them off of my car. I am absolutely disgusted with these tires and would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

Best light truck snow tire...period.

As a construction worker and N.E.Ohio resident, I've run many brands on my trucks; BFG All Terrain, Goodyear Wrangler, Bridgestone, Pirelli, etc. I've run Cooper Discoverers for the past five years. Excellent ride, wear, traction and price have kept me coming back. I decided to purchase a set of full-on winter tires for my 2wd F150. Cooper Discoverer M&S. I put them on just before a huge ice storm in 2012, a situation that has always meant problems for my 2wd. Unbelievable difference! These are the best tire for winter travel I've ever run...period! I also own an F250 4wd w/off road package, set up to haul a fifth wheel, its an open bed pickup. Many days I've needed the protected bed of the F150 (w/ cap), but the 4wd of the 250. These tires have pretty much eliminated that problem...they're that good. The one downside, is exactly what makes this tire so good in ice/snow...its soft compound remains pliable in harsh temps. The local tire guy explained they may be the best snow tire available, but do not run them in summer. We see summer temps near 100 and winter temps near 0. The summer heat will wear this (soft) tire quickly. Not an issue since I have two sets of wheels/tires, (summer & winter). That said, if you want unreal grip in snow and ice, these are the tires for you!

Great snow tires

I have a Chevy Silverado and a GMC Jimmy. I need snow tires for the winter months, especially this year. There has been so much snow that I decided to get some new tires. I went to a local tire shop and asked them which tires would be the best. The mechanic recommended Cooper Snow Tires. Although I thought they were priced a little higher than they should have been, I bought two sets anyways. I didn't get to test them on the snow covered roads until recently. These tires make a huge difference when driving in the snow. My truck and SUV weren't sliding all over the road. I have four-wheel drive on both vehicles, but these tires helped tremendously. After buying these tires, I even put on a snow plow on the front of my truck. I felt confident that these tires plus the four-wheel drive would stop my truck from sliding all over the road. Now with the Cooper Snow Tires I am making some extra money clearing driveways and parking lots with my plow on my truck. I recommend these tires to anyone that lives in an area that gets cold and snowy during the cold months.

A sturdy snow tire.

I feel very safe driving alone during the winter while these Cooper snow tires are on my vehicle. I find them to be extremely durable, smooth and actually quiet while on the road, which, while not a necessity, is certainly a good bonus. Sometimes winter tires can be louder than normal tires and make a sort of annoying, vibrating hum, but these do not do any of that. They have very good snow gripping action, which means more snow sticking to the tires for a smoother ride. I also find them very good when driving through all of the other winter weather aspects, like slush. They really power through slush like it isn't even on the road. Icy road conditions are also not as worrisome with these tires. While I still excessive a lot of caution in icy conditions, I feel a lot better about it and drive more confidently, because I feel like my Cooper tires are really gripping the road tight. These tires are a sure, safe bet if you live in a snowy place.

Decent product

Living in a place like Idaho, you have to be ready for the unexpected in winter weather. Having a decnt pair of tires or evn having snow tires at your disposal to use is vital and could mean saving your life. I have used these tires in the past few years. While I am not a big car enthusiast, I do know that I want the best and I want to know with out a doubt that when I am drivig my daugher is safe. While there was some skidding when using these tires, it was extremely minimal. I think that with most tires, gven the right circumstances (snow, ice, black ice..etc) That there would be some slipping or skidding. The one thing that I was impressed about when it came to these tires was the durablity. These tires seemed to last forever. Maybe that is because they are only snow tires and used for a few months out of each year. I believe, however, that they are great! I would recommend these tires to anyone who was lookig to get new snow tires wanted some that were reliabe.

I thought OMG when they told me the price but they are great.

This is my second season using these tires so I'm not sure how durable that they really are. I will tell you that they were not cheap which is the reason that I gave them a 9 instead of a 10. I love the 80,000 mile warranty which means that they should be good for the life of my car considering that I use them 3 months per year. I have a small Chevy Aveo that I have them on so getting stuck was never an issue but gaining traction and getting up to speed was as the old all purpose tires slipped through the snow. I was amazed at how much more traction I got. They also helped control the drift that you get through slushy slippery snow when braking. Like all other tires though they don't help on ice. I seem to get more punch when pulling out of the drive way into snowplow drifts left in the street by passing plows. I think that if my Cooper snow tires outlast my car I shall be a very happy man.

Great in the snow

At the beginning of October 2013 I purchased four of these Cooper weather master snow tires for my new to me car, a 2002 Dodge Stratus. This is my first winter driving this car and I wanted a good economical snow tire/studded tire. So far I am very happy with these Cooper weather master snow tires, they get good traction in the snow and seem to handle fairly well on ice. I am currently driving 40 miles round trip daily and have two young children so safety is a huge concern to me. I wanted studded snow tires that not only had good traction but also handled well and stopped well. The Cooper weather master snow tires have fit the bill on everything I was looking for. I have slid a couple times but that was due to very icy conditions and those times were both coming to a stop on an decline. On the freeway, main and back roads the tires have functioned incredibly well and I would recommend them to a friend or family member.

Review of Cooper - Snow Tires

5

I live in Ohio and we get a lot of snow! When we don't have snow we have ice! Our Winters are unpredictable. One day its raining and 60 degrees the very next day it can be snowing and 10 degrees. My husband is also a supervisor of a Towing and Recovery business so, sometimes he drives his personal vehicle to the accident scene, if his guys need him. We also have 3 children so I wouldn't drive with them in the car if I didn't trust the vehicle and tires. While using these tires, I didn't feel like we were sliding around a lot, the car stopped when I hit the breaks. Not only did it handle better on the snow and ice but it also didn't get stuck like a lot of other vehicles were. We even pulled a couple people out of ditches. We do take the tires off when the winter is over so that they last longer. We have had these for about 7 years now. I am sure that us removing for the summer has a lot to do with that. Its winter again so of course we have them on. They are still doing a wonderful job. I would recommend these tires to anyone.

My Favorite Snow Tire

5

After living in Michigan for only a few short weeks, I decided quickly that snow tires were going to be a necessity. I made a trip to the local tire shop to ask about recommendations. The serviceman suggested that I purchase the Cooper -Snow Tires. I did indeed make the purchase and will say that I was more than pleased. The Cooper -Snow Tires were a little more expensive but I feel that they were more than worth it. The Cooper -Snow Tires have a great tread pattern that grips the snow extremely well, which makes it easier to get around in the stuff. Since purchasing my first set of Cooper -Snow Tires, I have since purchased two more sets for some of my other trucks. I have had nothing but great luck with Cooper -Snow Tires. I will definitely be purchasing more of these tires in the future. I would also recommend the Cooper -Snow Tires to everyone who regularly drives in the snow.

Worked great for my family

I was so excited about getting these tires on my car! I had just had a newborn little girl and I wanted to make sure that I take every precaution to keeping my angel safe. We live in an area that gets lots of snow but my car is not a four wheel drive car and I wanted to make it safer. We love these tires. I could definitely tell a difference in the way my car handled in the snow! The cost of these tires was not so great, but I would have done anything to keep my family safer. I didn't feel like my car was slipping or sliding on the streets anymore. Also I noticed that the traction greatly increased! I was so excited about my purchase. We have had these tires on our car for two years and I couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a tire that handles well in the snow and gets great traction! They are a bit of an investment but I would say its worth the investment.
