I ordered this item from Overstock.com for only $9.99. I often use my laptop on the sofa and on the bed. I place the computer directly on the sofa cushion, on my comforter or blanket, but never on my lap. I was finding that the fan was turning on quite often and my laptop was getting slow.

Although I was not actively looking for a cooling stand, I came across this item while I was browsing for something else on Overstock.com. For $9.99, I could not resist testing this item out.
