Cook's Corner Pan is Beautiful, but Difficult to Keep That Way

4

I have had this pan for about two years now. I originally bought this pan because I was collecting all stainless steel pans and really needed a larger skillet. I absolutely love the capacity this skillet has to offer. I am able to make an entire meal for my six-person family in this one skillet. I heats evenly through the entire depth and width of the pan. The only problem when you get it that full is that it becomes extremely heavy. I really enjoy the second handle when it gets to that point, though, so you can told it with both hands. I also like that the main handle is made of a different material than the pan itself, so it does not get as hot. II also don't like how difficult the pan is to clean. Food sticks to it easily, even after using nonstick spray. I find that generally using a stainless steel cleaner removes the food, but it is sometimes a nuisance having to specially care for this one pan.

Super thin and average quality frying pan.

I love to cook, so I'm always on the lookout for a great deal on items for my kitchen.  A couple months ago I found what I thought was a great bargain, but it's just okay. My **Cook's Corner 10" Stainless Steel Frying Pan with Lid** was fairly inexpensive at Ross, so I couldn't resist.  I have been looking for a stainless steel pan with a lid, so this one seemed perfect until I started using it. Some of this pans features: - Vented Tempered Glass Lid - Riveted "Stay Cool" Handles - Dishwasher Safe - Encapsulated Aluminum Base for Even Heat Distribution At first glance this appears to be a nice pan - the shiny stainless steel sparkles, the lid is of nice quality and the handle is very comfortable to hold. A combination of that and the cheaply made handle really reduces my opinion of this product. If you're on a budget or don't mind the thin handle, I would recommend this pan, but if you can afford better, I'd pass. Doesn't Stick I use cooking spray when I use this pan and it never fails that eggs and other foods stick to it horribly. Heat Distribution Since this pan is made with thin, poor-quality stainless-steel, my food heats up almost instantly. It also burns very quickly because there isn't the heat distribution that you will find in a higher quality pan. Ease of Handling The handle is very comfortable to hold. I just wish it was made of higher quality materials. Ease of Cleaning It is at least dishwasher-safe, which is nice. Design The lid is glass and has a steam hole on top. The lid is perfect, it's the pan that I'm a little disappointed in. I realize after owning this pan for awhile that the thickness and quality of the stainless steel is very poor, which is directly related to how my food comes out. Durability When you cook with it, it heats very quickly and cooks decently. It's very light-weight, but that didn't bother me until I examined the handle. The handle is so thin that I could bend it where it is attached to the pan if I really wanted to. Although they are "stay cool" handles, bending is not an indication of high-quality.
