Cooks 6-Qt Slow Cooker —

We have a lot of carry-ins at my office, and I love to throw something in the crockpot to take in for my dish.  The Cooks 6-Qt Slow Cooker is an attractive stainless-steel-housed ceramic crock that looks great and handles any kind of food you throw in it.  High and low temperatures are the two cooking options available on this model.  I was impressed with the price...it was about $20 cheaper than some of the other brands like Hamilton Beach that were comparable in size.

Some of the best features I have found about the Cooks 6-Qt Slow Cooker are that the crock and glass lid are both dishwasher safe and I love the great look of the stainless steel...it matches my kitchen, so I even like to have it out on the counter while I'm not using it!  Because it's ceramic and holds a lot of food, it can be a little unwieldy, so I am extra careful when lifting the crock out of the heating unit.

The lid seals well on the crock, but if steam builds up too much, because the glass is fairly thin, it rattles incessantly from the pressure.  That can be a little irritating, especially when we're trying to have meetings while the food cooks!  However, the cooker heats evenly and is extremely easy to clean.  Even burned food can be scraped off the sides with a nylon scraper or scrub brush without scratching the ceramic.

Aside from the rattling lid, I love my Cooks 6-Qt Slow Cooker!
