Works well but dosen't last.

2

It always cooked well and cleaned well but it only lasted a year before the electrical system wouldn't work any more. I'm not sure why. The only part I would wash in the sink was the inside dish and the outside with the controls I would wipe down with a cloth. It lasted just long enough where the store would not remiburse me for it. Time to Heat It always cooked well and everything I cooked in it came out well and stayed warm. Cooking Performance No troubles cooking. Ease of Cleaning As long as the problem I had with the cooker was as a result to cleaning. It was easy to clean. I would wash the cooking bowl in the sink and I would wipe down the front part with a wet wash cloth. Ease of Use Very easy to use. Just set the digital timer to the desired time and set the temperature. Design I might sound old fashioned but I prefer the cookers with the manual dial. I think that the digital system couldn't take the fluctuating heat and the water. Durability I think it lasted only a couple of years my grandmother has slow cookers that where given to her as a wedding gift 50 years ago and they still work. I just don't understand why this one wouldn't

I don't know what I would do without my Cooks slow cooker, I have five kids and between work and school and activities, theirs just no time to cook dinner, so its great to be able to through everything in the slow cooker the nite before and have a nice dinner when our day is over and no big mess to clean up...

Great for any size family!

I love my crockpot, I mean doesn't every busy mom need a crockpot to help them accomplish meals more efficiently? I am newly married so I don't have a large family yet but I love the size of this crockpot because I can make small meals in it but I can also make large size roasts, side dishes, stews for when we have company or are going to a covered dish meal. I love how this is  a programmable slow cooker so I can set it to cook for a few hours and then go to bed and not have to worry about turning it off or if I am at a conference or something I can set it to go while I am away and then come back to it just warming and perfectly done. Also you don't have to use the timer you can just set it on high, low or warm. I do think you have to play with the time you cook certain things because sometimes if I just set it on my timer it overcooks, but that is to be expected, you have to just get adjusted to how it cooks. I will also say that it is quite a heavy crockpot which is hard to carry around but its doable. It is very easy to clean!

Not the best

I bought this crockpot a year ago because the one I had no longer worked.  I had heard great things about this corckpot and the price was just right for my family.  The first thing I cooked in it was a roast and I cooked it all day on high and the roast was not done eight hours later like it would be in any other crockpot.  I had plenty of water in it along with some veggies.  I cooked it all night into the next morning and it was finally finished enough to eat.  I just made lunches for everyone in my famil.  I as willing to try one more thing in it so I made some boiled peanuts.  The water never came to a boil even with the crockpot being on high again all day.  It took three full days for the peanuts to become soft enough to eat.  I am not pleased with this crockpot and will never buy another Cooks brand crockpot nor will I ever recommend this brand appliance to anyone.  I will stick with my crockpot brand.

Cooks oval slow cooker adds to the look of my kitchen.

The Cooks 6 qt. slow cooker caught my attention first because it was on sale at JC Penney. The second thing that caught my eye was the stainless steel and black design that would fit perfectly in my kitchen. It is versatile and can look great with many kitchen colors and designs. The black stoneware crock lifts out for easy cleaning. The only thing that surprised me after getting it home and trying it out was the outer part of the slow cooker that is the stainless steel part gets VERY hot to touch while in use. Not a good thing to leave on the counter top with small kids around.  The outcome of the food was great and I even stuck the top and the crock in the dishwasher and was very pleased. Great product overall.

I do not recommend the Cooks 6.5. programmable slow cooker

Very disappointed in my Cooks slow cooker.  I have had it for over a year and maybe used it 10 times.  I made a chicken dish with breast of chicken, carrrots , potatoes and celery.  Was on low, per the instructions,. for 7.5. hours.  Result ~ we had macaroni and cheese for dinner.  All vegetables were still hard and the chicken was not cooked.  I am at a loss. . . .I guess I will buy another one that is not as expensive.

Handles need to be re-engineered

I have had my 6.5 quart Cooks brand slow cooker for almost two years.  While it cooks well, the bakelite handles are slowly cracking/crumbling to the point where one of them  is no longer safe/usable to lift the crockpot.

I love my purple Cooks slow cooker!

This Cooks 6.5 programmable Slow Cooker is a great help!  I like being able to cook at the three temp settings (high, low, and warm) and to set the time to cook for each temp.  It makes enough soup and chili for my husband and me to have a meal or two, then freeze enough for two-three more meals.  It's also the ideal way to cook a roast with vegetables.

This is fabulous!!!

This is **NOT** "your mothers slow cooker".  Every one always raves about slow cookers and I could never see the big deal.  If you put it on before you work but work all day it is over cooked when you get home and who has time to go home on lunch???  This is different though you can put your frozen meats and veggies, spices in and then program it to start to cook for the time when you know you'll be home.  It is so nice to come home to a ready meal.  With after school activites and sports, we just use it on our busy days, and then we can still enjoy our evening for family time instead of in the kitchen.  I love it, and so does my family. FYI: It also cleans up supper easy. One dish.

LOVE IT!We used to have a small 1.5Q crock pot, which was nice and handy for days that I knew i didn't have time to make a meal for myself later in the day, or the next day... but now that we've upgraded to this massive 6.5Q cooker, we are loving every minute of it.10-15Lbs of pork overnight for a nice shredded pork sandwich... that feeds the family and more... TWICE!the programable clock is nice for things I don't want soggy and disgusting (stew with potatoes that are 'done' and not mushy)... The High, Low and Warm settings are nice because sometimes i don't need to cook something, just warm it up so it's not frozen (meatballs and bbq sauce!)
