Cooks 2 Slice Toaster

5

We have owned the Cooks 2 Slice Toaster for more than 5 years and this toaster has operated without a problem. We needed a toaster to simply toast bread within minutes and is very fast. The temperature of the toaster stays consistent with the controls and as a matter of fact has only burned the bread on one occasion when I was in a rush and did not pay attention to the setting. Also for we paid a good value this toaster at a reasonable price. Toasting Evenness Has consistently toasted the bread evenly for five years. Safety The toaster has not over heated when preparing large breakfasts to date. Ease of Cleaning We clean the toaster bi-weekly and crumb build-up has not effective this toaster. Durability This toaster has lasted five years without a problem. The toaster is used heavy on the weekend and only a couple of days during the week. Design The clean and simple design of this toaster is great for a small family or couple starting out.

This toaster makes great ...

This toaster makes great toast! I like that it is simple, easy to use and looks nice sitting on the counter. Its a basic toaster and is not super fancy, but it does its job and toasts bread! Toasting Evenness I love that my toast comes out hot and not burnt! Safety I have not had any problems with the safety of this toaster and we have used it for several years now Ease of Cleaning No problems cleaning it. Durability This toaster has worked consistently for several years and held up well. Design I think this is a nice looking toaster that can match your other stainless steel appliances.

I would definitely recommend this toaster. It's speedy and durable. I love that it's easy to use. No hassle! It's so visually appealing too! Doesn't take up too much space on your countertop, which is essential now a days. I haven't experienced any negatives to this toaster. Great value overall! Would recommend to others!

Better than average toaster

I bought this toaster a few years ago when my old toaster broke. Unlike other toasters, this toaster actually toasts breads and bagels evenly. The slot's width is wide enough that I can fit bread slices and half a bagel into each slot, but I don't think it would be able to fit Texas toast bread. The toaster has many settings and the bagel setting is one of them. I find this setting very useful, along with the cancel setting. If something is toasting longer than one would like, one can merely press the cancel button and the item being toasted will immediately pop out. There's a blue light that'll shine when something's being toasted. Despite all these great features though, my toaster isn't working as well as it should be. I now have to hold the toast button for 5 seconds before the blue light will appear and there's a burning smell coming from the toaster. Toasting Evenness All my bread and bagels have come out evenly toasted. There hasn't been a situation in which one side that's burnt while the other side is perfectly toasted. Safety The toaster gets hot on the sides, so parents should caution children of this. Taking this into account, I would still say this this toaster is safe for children of a reasonable age to use so long as they are warned beforehand of what to avoid doing/touching. Ease of Cleaning The tray on the bottom of this toaster makes it easy to clean. I simply need to take the tray off and shake off the crumbs. There have been times in which I did need to turn the toaster upside down to get a few stubborn crumbs out, but overall clean is quick and easy. Durability The durability of this toaster isn't as long lasting as I'd like it to be, but I purchased it when it was on sale. As I've stated before, a burning smell comes out of the toaster when it's being used and I have to hold the toast button for a certain amount of time before the blue light will appear and the same goes for the "spring". Design The stainless steel makes the toaster aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The oven is compact and does not take much counter space.

Great price, works well!

I went and bought this toaster without doing any research - I bought it because of the price. I don't toast things every day but for the amount that I use it it works very well. If you toast a lot of bread or bagels I would suggest getting something else because with only 2 slots for bread, it is not as efficient as a larger toaster.

useless

This is a piece of junk!! Each slot for the bread toasts only one side of the bread, then I have to turn it around to get the other side toased (of course burning the first side). Ok, so I tried using the other slot, same thing. This is the worst toaster I've ever used. I could do better trying to make toast on a campfire. Toasting Evenness one side toasts, one side doesn't get toasted

It does not toast quick as most non-wide slice toasters.

3

It has to be the slowest toaster out there and probably due to the wide slice capability. I would make sure you need this for bagels before purchasing. Efficiency probably is worse too. Toasting Evenness Even toasting because it takes longer. Safety Not hot to touch. Ease of Cleaning Typical pull out tray. Durability Mechanism gets stuck once in awhile then I have to shake it while pressing down. Design Pretty for stainless buffs, nice for the price.

The Cook's 2-slice toaster actually makes two slices of toast!

4

How many toasters have you had or used that sort of made toast, but one slice was different than the other or one side of the toast was more/less done than the other side?  The Cook's 2-Slice toaster actually makes two evenly toasted slices of toast.  It's great. The toaster also comes with some additional features like a bagel option to toast only one side, a cancel button, and a few others.  All that really matters is that everything works fine.  The openings are large enough for the average bagel, but not big enough for a huge hunk of homemade bread - no big deal.  The real benefit is that the toast comes out evenly toasted every time.  The dial that adjusts the darkness is sensitive enough that you can change the darkness, but not so sensitive that a tiny twist on the knob turns our pale bread into blackened garbage. Buy this toaster if you want 2 slices of evenly toasted bread Buy something else if you need more than two slices.

Cooks 2-Slice Stainless Steel Toaster is durable

5

Cooks 2-Slice Stainless Steel Toaster is a great toaster. It is my second toaster. My first toaster did not last more than two year. I was very disappointed in toasters and thought it is something I have to keep on buying over and over. However since I bought Cooks, I no longer feel that way about toasters. I have been using it for a long time, more than four years now. It toast great. And it is perfect for small family or for family were not everyone eats toasts. It toast quick. I love that I can choose how toasty I wanted with the scale that varies from one to six. Also I can choose if it is bagel, defrost or reheat. It is easy to clean from bread crumbs, is has a layer(tray) that I can take out and dust. It looks good in my kitchen.

The Cook's 2-slice is perfect.

It is hard to find a good toaster, but this one is a winner. The Cook's 2-Slice toaster actually makes one or two slices of perfectly toasted bread. Above all, it is consistent and easily adjustable. The dial effectivly changes the darkness of the toast without being overly sensitive. The crumb pan on the 2-slice is comparable to crumb pans on toasters. The Cook's 2-slice also comes with a bagel option to toast only one side, a cancel button, and a few others. The bottom line is that the toaster works really well. The only problem is the size of the openings. They are large enough for the average bagel, but not big enough for a very thick slice of bread. The openings are sized very similar to nearly every other toaster I've ever had, so the size of the openings on the Cook's 2-slice shouldn't be a surprise when you take it out of the box. You would be hard pressed to find a better value in a toaster.
