Continental Airlines Review Summary

Viewpoints members give Continental airlines a fairly good rating. The biggest plus to Viewpoints members was the Continental Airlines OnePass program which allows customers to “can use and earn miles with a number of different airlines.” People who love to travel like that Continental actually still serves meals on their flights unlike most other airlines. Viewpoints members expecting good, fair service felt that tickets were a bit pricey. Read what others say are the best airlines and worst airlines.

Continental isn't the largest airline in the American skies. It's not the oldest. It's not the most famous. It doesn't have ticket the most passengers, and it doesn't own the biggest fleet. It's not the cheapest either. But here and now, with the realities of the U.S. airline industry of 2007, it pretty...

Where do I begin with this review? I chose Continental Airlines for a one way trip from Syracuse, NY to San Diego, CA with a connection in Newark. I had never flown with them before, but I was encouraged to try them based on the positive reviews on this site and others. I feel I have to write this review... review »

I have flown Delta, Northwest, Southwest, US Air, and Continental, and Continental was by far the best.  I flew them to Pittsburgh a couple of times, and I had a great experience both times.  On at least a couple of occasions, I actually got what would count as a breakfast (cereal and fruit) (this was a few years ago, so I don't know if they still do that).

On the way back from Pittsburgh to Houston the second time, I flew on a regional jet, which I prefer to a larger plane.  Our flight attendant, Omar, was very good (You know, if the flight attendant isn't going to be a really attractive woman,...

Having had to leave on a quick unexpected family emergancy trip and all the rushing and no rest.  I was so shocked an extremely pleased with all the help and friendliness that came from all the Continental employees.  They assisted me in finding my way around the airport, that was being remodeled, and getting my tickets and my way back to the correct gate.  The biggest suprise came when I was getting ready to get on to the plane.  The assistant behind the desk ask me if I was traveling alone, and she wanted to see my ticket.   She then looked at it and said I can get you a better...

If you're going to get anywhere good and free with an airline, you've got to concentrate your flying on one airline. If you're in the US and want to get overseas on rewards, it's got to be one of the big legacy carriers. (You try getting business class to Paris on Southwest.) And unless you are in another legacy carrier's hub, I'd suggest going with Continental.

The things I appreciate about Continental are:

[]  The good first-class upgrade program, which is unlimited and driven by elite status rather than coupons, like United's or American's. If you are high-level elite, you get upgraded a lot....

Very exciting with the news that Cleveland Hopkins Airport will be getting $57 mil expansion for CO.

This is the best airline, after fighting bankruptcy years ago, their new President taught his staff very well to stay #1.  They have kiosk check in, fast luggage turnover, even cards so we are first in line at TSA with no carry ons to pass through.  That is Service!

We can fly to London leaving CLE at 7PM arriving at Gatwick at 7AM for a TA  cruise.  Nonstop, great meal served & then we get 7 hours of sleep.  4 hour flight from LAX we had a hot meal with salad, roll & butter, and a fresh baked...

I flew Continental air 2 weeks ago from Sacramento to Milan, Italy. They were courtious, the staff was friendly and the seats were comfortable. I had an overnight leg from Newark NJ to Milan, and there was turbulence, but the flight crew tried to make us as comfortable as possible. For such a long flight I was not board since they have a wide selection of movies and TV shows to keep us busy, as well as video games on the plane I was on. The best part was the food. Continental made sure we were well fed, even on the shorter flights and they didn't nickel and dime me. I was able to find an affordable... review »

One of the things that makes Continental tops in my book is the fact that they are one of the few airlines that still have meals on the flight that you don't have to purchase. Living on the west coast and flying back to family on the east coast, having meals and a comfortable seat really helps the 5+ hour flight. They are a bit more expensive for the routes I take but the few extra dollars is worth having quality service in-flight and comfortable planes.

Long story short: I missed my connecting flight in Newark on my way home to Los Angeles from Paris and there were no more flights available that day. The problem was I had to be at my sister's anniversary the next day in Seattle and I had already booked a cheap a.m. flight from L.A. to seattle the next day. After missing my connection there was NO way I was going to catch that Seattle flight so I asked if I could just rebook a flight to Seattle. The agent was so understanding and patient with me as I cried my eyes out and did the best she 'thought' she could do. She called the reservations...

Hats off to Continental Airlines!  In a world of American-based airlines always cutting back on service, it's nice to see Continental treating their passengers like -- can you imagine --  customers!!!  They now serve at least a snack on most of their flight and it is actually usually pretty good!  In addition, as a member of the SkyTeam alliance, they not only make it very easy via their website to get credit for miles with other SkyTeam alliance airlines (e.g., I have mine credited to NorthWest Airlines), but provide complimentary and automatic first class upgrades on domestic flights to SkyTeam... review »

In early July of this year a few co-workers and I traveled to Houston, TX via Continental Airlines.  I noticed that traveling in the past if you want anything to eat you had better pack it yourself as meals are no longer provided on many airlines.  That being said you can imagine my surprise when we received breakfast on our flight to Houston.  I mean although it was not the best of breakfasts it was however a nice surprise to get anything at all without having to second mortgage your home for a snack.  I also appreciate the courteousness of the flight crew, crying babies, amazingly large oversized... review »

Continental is by far the best airline that I have traveled with. They have well above average customer service and have decent fares. The planes are nice and in good condition. Their frequent flyer program is excellent in the fact that you can use and earn miles with a number of different airlines in the one pass program. I have nothing bad at all to say about Continental.

I was quite suprised at the service we received from Continental. They even provided full meals free of charge which we weren't expecting. They weren't that bad either.
