I have found that the information in Consumer Reports is all too often out of date, incomplete or just inaccurate.
They seem no better than the so called independent review sites that are often rewarded by the big manufacturers.
Do they buy the products they test or do the manufacturers give them to them for testing?
Do they ensure that the product is fault free before testing - as a 'normal' consumer would or do they test it faults and all, which would be really meaningless?
As the information is so incomplete - it is not even a good source of 'what's available'.
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
