Connecticut Limo  —

After a recent vacation our flight from NY to Hartford CT was cancelled due to bad weather.  We called Connecticut Limo as we had used them years ago, to get us back to Hartford.

We were picked up in a timely manner and entered a van with two other passengers.  Over the next two hours in thunder and lightening storms with flash flooding we picked up 6 more people, including a toddler.  The driver barely spoke English and did not communicate with the passengers beyond taking their money.  He drove like a maniac despite the weather and we were tossed side to side and back to front as he weaved around vehicles at high speeds, splashing through puddles.

The van had no rear view mirror, and by the way we bounced around, I suspect poor or no shock absorbers!

By the time we arrived in Hartford, we wanted to kiss the ground!  The next morning we discovered with all the thrashing around we did, my husband's wallet had dropped out of his pocket.  It included credit cards, some cash, his passport, and license.  We immediately called Connecticut Limo for them to check the van that we were in and were told that if it had been in the van, they would have turned it in.  We knew there was no other place it could be because he had it in the van to pay the bill and not after.  After some discussion, the girl that answered the phone reluctantly agreed to check with the driver, but said she couldn't reach him until the end of the day (surprising, as they radio him every 2 seconds to get another passenger!).  We never heard from her.  Meanwhile we cancelled passports, credit cards, etc.

About a week later we got a separate call from them stating that my husband's wallet had been turned in as it was found in one of their vans.  I spoke to customer service at that time and gave them all of the information regarding the whole incident, from the van to the missing wallet.  They assured us it would be handled.  TWO months later, I received a letter from Connecticut Limo, stating that they were sorry about our experience but wanted us to know that their drivers take a course and are all safe drivers and they have great customer service; however, for our trouble they issued us a $10 credit toward our next ride with them (which I promptly threw away).  Beware this company, that driver will kill someone eventually and they don't care.

Never again here either. Even with an appointment I was given a 45 minute wait time, longer than the drive time if I just asked a friend to come get me. Wound up being 65 minutes. (they claimed airport traffic, but it was no worse than usual = expected) Driver's complete end of three conversations was the "words": "K" and "This?" Driver's foot throbbed on and off the throttle even with no traffic once we got going, so it felt like a roller coaster ride.

They're terrible. On my trip from Long Wharf to JFK, the driver was basically hogging the passing lane the entire time, sometimes weaving in and out of traffic, and passing on the right. Completely unsafe. The driver also had the audacity to go off on a rant about all the shootings, theft, etc in Bridgeport before proceeding to stop at her house in the middle of Bridgeport to pick up an item she had forgotten, leaving me, the other passengers, and our luggage sitting in the van in the middle of a dodgy neighborhood. The drive after that was more speeding, staying in the passing lane, etc. If you see one of these vans approach you on I-95, be prepared to drive in the defensive. I understand that we made it to our destination in time, but the journey itself could have been much, MUCH more professional. Not recommended.

Hi Celeste
My name is Beena and I had a very bad experience with Connecticut Limo too. I lost one luggage in Connecticut Limo with very valuable items and they did not do anything to help us get it back

YIKES! That sounds like a horrible ordeal. So sorry that you had to go through all that. At least by writing this review, you can help unsuspecting potential customers. Nice job!
