Pros

cute little gems, might be cute for kids and teens, easy to use, PURPLE

Cons
gems don't come out easily, it rips and pulls on my hair, I looked foolish wearing gens in my hair, really not for older adults, gems break easily

Quick View: Oh, I love my husband. Really, I do. But what ON EARTH was he thinking when he bought me this for Christmas? I guess he saw something purple and something for hair and thought it was a grand idea. Uh, no. It's cute for kids but not for women in their 40's. Plus, it hurts taking those beads out! (Yes, I did try it!)

About the Conair Quick Gem - Purple (HJBC)

This pretty purple gadget holds 24 faux gems in three colors and shapes. The idea is to add a gem or two or more to small strands of hair to add "bling" to your style. The gadget is simple to use. You turn on the thing and then pull a small stand of hair away from your head. You then focus the "shooter" or whatever it is on your hair and push the big button on the side. The gem clicks onto your hair and stays there by way of springs that clamp shut. I suppose, if you're a kid, it looks cute. I looked like I had a crumb or something in my hair.

When it came time to remove the gems, that is when the pain started. I couldn't get the darn things to open. They are supposed to open up and slide out with ease. Nu-uh! My hair was tangled in the springs and I ended up ripping hair out to get the gems out. Then they wouldn't close and I had to throw them away. I believe you can buy extra "gems" from Conair but I don't have the need. This isn't my cup of tea.

But don't tell my husband. I'll get a blender next Christmas. Ack. Maybe I AM still a kid at heart but just not one who enjoys ripping my hair out while pulling little stones from it.

My Viewpoint

This may be a cute gadget for a kid or maybe even a teen. I don't know, maybe there are adults who would like it. Not only don't I have time to mess with it but I don't want little gems in my hair. Removing them can be painful too and I feel for any little girl who has to go through that. I give this 3 stars. I guess I recommend it. It did work and didn't fall apart or anything. Just know you may have issues removing the gems.

You are more generous than I am. I would have given it one, maybe two, stars.
