When I came across the Hair Designer by Conair Hot Air Styler; I honestly did not think it would work at all. Hot air brushes have never done anything but puff up my thick hair and make it even thicker, frizzier, and frankly- ugly!
However the whole package intrigued me, it made me curious, and I figured at $39.99 it was not a huge splurge. I also figured if it sucked I could at least return it. Package it up, and send it back to the store I bought it at.
I also knew if it sucked, I'd write reviews about it, and warn people of it's shame.
There is nothing bad to say about the Hot Air Styler by Conair though!
Now mind you, I have very, very thick hair. Not just average thick hair, I'm talking so thick that if my hair is not straightened it has a frigging wing span!
The Hair Designer by Conair Hot Air Styler made claims to dry, detangle, and straighten my hair simply by running the brush through my hair.
I thought it would be awful, thought it'd puff my hair up, knot it up, and do all those awful things that every hair dryer practically does to my hair.
I took a shower to use it on wet hair. My hair is close to impossible to straighten when wet, so doing it this way really put the tool through the ultimate quality test!
After turning the styler on to high power and brushing it through my hair I was amazed at how easily it went through my hair. I expected it to get stuck on snarls and knots, but the tool seriously glided through each knot and snarl with ease, and it did not rip or pull at the hair when doing do!
It took about 5 minutes for my hair to be completely dry! This is a feat in itself. Even the best of the best hair dryers take a good 15 to 20 minutes...yet this small handheld tool managed to dry my hair up completely in just 5 minutes! Pinch me, I'm dreaming.
As the hair dried, I noticed it looked a little puffy and frizzy, and figured the tool would be boxed back up and returned. I decided though to continue to brush the styler through my hair and let it work some magic.
It did work magic. 15 minutes into non-stop strokes to my hair, and my hair was shiny, straight, and fully dry!
The volume was noted, but I have thick hair. I did have to run a flat iron through my hair for a few seconds to reduce volume; for those though who have flat thin hair, you will appreciate the added volume! For those with thick hair like me, keep a regular flat iron on hand.
Although my hair was a bit volumized, using this tool allowed me to finish straightening my hair in 15 minutes flat! That is a record time, and should be noted in the world of guiness. Usually it takes me 1 hour or more to straighten my hair after it's wet.
I am very, very impressed, and I recommend EVERYONE pick one of these up for themselves, you will be so grateful for all the time you will save on styling your hair.
You can pick one up at any local Target for $39.99. the Conair website also sells them, but they are for some reason much more expensive than at superstores!
