Conair Comfort Touch Tourmaline Ceramic Styling Hair Dryer —

Everything I Wanted In a Hairdryer and More

I just reviewed my daughter's hairdryer recently, mentioning that I really needed to get a hairdryer of my own, but I liked my daughter's so much, I just kept using hers. Not that that stopped me for looking for my own. It's just when I'd find one, I'd think why bother? I'll just use hers. Yet when I was shopping recently and found the Conair Comfort Touch Tourmaline Ceramic Styling Hair Dryer on clearance for six dollars and some change, I had to buy it, and what I found was a hair dryer that does everything I want it to.

As the name implies, it has a comfort touch to it. That soft grip found on so many things that makes it so much nicer to hold onto than cold plastic. Instead of just having two speeds, with the temperature already pre-determined, this hairdryer also includes three separate heat controls, to be able to get just the right styling settings that you want. Although I'm not a patient person, so I run with it up as high as it can go in heat and speed. I just want it done ... now. It also has a cool touch button, but I've still yet to find a use for that. A unique feature to this one is the hinged door that makes cleaning the filter much easier.

It also has a concentrator attachment along with a diffuser, one of those with the little fingers extending out from it. I know that's not unique to this unit, but I'd just never used one before. I can get frizzy hair, it runs in my family, so that helps control all that frizz. I also then tried it on my daughter's hair, as hers gets frizzier, curlier, and thicker the older she gets. Some people have all the luck. Mine did the opposite, less frizzy, less waves, and thinner as I got older. She had a hard time drying her hair before in the haphazard way she was doing it without it getting frizzy and without getting automatic spit curls on the side. This diffuser controls both for her, and it seems to be easier for her to do overall as she just "combs" it through with the dryer and diffuser.

So while I wanted another dryer in order to not have to share one with my daughter, I'm in the same boat again, as we both want to use this new Conair one. That's okay, though, as I know I can get an attachment for hers so that we both can be set up with the diffusers. I just can't get over that somehow I got lucky, and found the best hairdryer I have ever used on clearance for probably 75% off.

That's so funny about your daughter wanting yours! I'll have to consider this one if I'm looking for one in the future.
