Compaq v6000 Laptop Reviews

I would not reccommend this Laptop. Our hard drive failed within the first year and we had to have it replaced. I had to call the tech support MANY times and you cannot understand nor please the tech support people. I was connected to the United Kingdom when i called them.

They kept trying to tell me that it was a bad wireless card and they would not consider anything else. It was only after the entire thing failed, they did. I had to ship it back and have it fixed, making all my personal information viewable to unknown people.

I will never buy another HP computer from the horrible experience that...

This computer was bought because I wanted "top of the line", fast, reliable, HA.

I also purchased Office Max's "Max Assurance" with the "no lemon" clause. It was a laugh  too!

 I actually had the hard drive replaced twice, the mother board once, the dvd drive twice, then they FINALLY agreed to replace it, (ALL OF THIS IN LESS THAN 1 1/2 YEARS!!)only to get another "HP/Compaq" piece of crap. It was slow, locked up, and also had hardware replaced after only 2 months!!  So, buyers beware!

I have a Compaq V6444US. At first I like. However for no reason it just stop working after hybernating. It didn't power on, so I sent it to the HP to fix it (it was under warranty). They didn't find any problem... It happen again recently, this time it power on after I let it cool a bit. The laptop is not noisy, so I'm thinking maybe the problem is the cooling system...I had 3 other laptops in the past, and I never have a problem like this before.

Other than that, the laptop is ok.

Well my husband is the IT Expert, but i have a few of my own opinions about the Compaq Presario v6000.  I have had this laptop for about three years now.   The things I like about it:  Good sized clear screen.  Typing is a breeze and it came with a bunch of fun stuff.  Unfortunately,  I keep finding things wrong with it.  The small controls for sound and mute up at the top of the board are broken.  Mute is temperamental and works only when it wants too.  I dont really appreciate moodiness in my computers. lol  It often freezes up on me, although i have never been in the throws of anything...

I bought a Compaq for my daughter for christmas last year and it was a godsend, no more fighting over the desktop computer.

It is easy to carry around for when she goes to friends houses to do homework and she does not have to worry if they have a computer at their house at all or not. Just leave it turned on when you leave home and plug it in when you get to your friends house.

Now I don't have to worry about her not getting her homework done. Easily carried in any type of cloth bag.

Also for parents who have bought a Compaq with just the bare necessities and don't have what the child needs for...

This cp is not really that good if you are a very busy computer business person. Definitely need to have alot of patience. Buts its ok for simple stuff. The price for it isnt to bad though. It is very thin and light nice clear screen. Jusst have problems with freezing up, power up, internet.
