The Compaq Presario laptop is very realiable. I have had if for a few years and never really had any serious problem with it. It has been one of the best laptops I have had because of the way it is build and because of the way it is reliable. There are other brands that do not build computers as well or with errors but Compaq does the job well!

I purchased this laptop in 2006, and it's become the "beater laptop" for me. The laptop is always fixable, and when the motherboard on my Toshiba fried; this laptop faithfully started up (even though it was not used for over a year). The only modifications I've done to it is remove Windows and put Linux recently, but have not had to add more RAM. Granted, it definitely can use more RAM; but it does what I want it to do - surf the internet, light graphics work, write documents, and store pictures. This laptop survived having a beer spilled into it (gotta love college), and after a thorough dry out and a check to make sure nothing had been severely damaged thanks to the sugar content of the beer; it booted and has worked fine since then. When I was in college, it ran ArcGIS without issues and other software, and handled the daily life of being put into and pulled out of a backpack with ease. Compaq isn't my favorite brand of laptop, but I'm impressed by the durability and resiliency of it.

This is a nice laptop computer.  It has builti in wireless and a CD/DVD Combo drive/writer.  Nice audio controls are dedicated buttons.  The speakers are a little cheap though.  Lots of USB ports.
