Canon - PowerShot SX110IS Digital Camera
The Canon Powershot SX110IS is an amazing compact digital camera. It has a 3 inch LCD digital viewfinder, a 10x optical zoom, and 9.0 megapixels. I love the quality of the photos. The color it captures always turns out amazing.
The flash is manual...you must raise it manually when you want it to fire. At first, I thought this aspect of the camera would bug me, but it doesn't. I like being able to control the flash, instead of fighting to keep it from going off like I did with my old Kodak camera.
The computer software that comes with it is easy to install and it's incredibly easy to transfer photos...
review »Sony - Cybershot W30 Digital Camera
Background: My last 3 cameras have been Sony cybershots, all various models of their compact variety (the camera I had prior to this one was the Sony Cybershot S90, for which I will probably write another review). I feel I have gotten to know this make of camera quite well, and can attest to its strengths and weaknesses.
Life: The Sony Cybershot W30 came out early in 2006. I got mine in December 2006, and as of this writing I have had it now for about 3 years, which is a pretty good life for a frequently-used and sometimes-abused digital camera.
Durability: I don't recommend the following,...
review »Nikon - COOLPIX 2000 Digital Camera
I actually got this camera as a christmas present, it would have not being my first choice, but it was the best present yet. i love this camera, i take it everywhere with me. the picture quality is incredible, the voice recording is top class and the video quality is even better. I am always recommending it to friends and family. It top notch, durable, unbeatable quality. Fuji, Kodak and Casio ain't got nothing on my Nikon Cool Pix
Canon - PowerShot SD600 Digital Camera
I have had the Cannon Power Shot SD 600 for about two or three years now. I have a couple of other Cannon Powershots in the past and I really am partial to them. They have always been very easy to use. I am not a professional photographer in any sense of the word, and I do not want to have to mess with a lot of different fuctions or lenses, etc. The picture quality and the movie quality have always been great. The LCD screen on the back is big and easy to use. I also love that it is so little. I can carry it in my purse or even in my pocket easily. The only real problem that I have...
review »Panasonic - Lumix DMC-FZ8
Almost exactly a year after the introduction of the camera, Panasonic's popular compact super-zoom camera, comes its replacement; the Lumix DMC-FZ8. Where the FZ7 was a fairly major upgrade to the camera that came before it (the FZ5), the FZ8 is, perhaps inevitably, more evolutionary. The body design and operation is almost identical - no bad thing, given the huge improvements made over the FZ5 - and the only really big news is the inclusion of Raw shooting and a much better electronic viewfinder.
More controversially the new model squeezes even more pixels onto a 1/2.5-inch sensor, and uses the...
review »Sony - CyberShot H10 Digital Camera
This is an amazing camera! I bought it because I needed something small and compact to carry around in my purse for my travels, something that I could use to zoom into something that is far away. It does that and so much more!
I love the auto feature on this camera. I have taken some great shots at night - just make sure to hold steady or use something to keep the camera stable (tripod). The zoom feature is wonderful. With 10x zoom, I am able to get in close to the subject and get a very clear picture.
Another reason I love this camera is the quality of the photos, especially the color. I have...
review »Samsung - TL225 Digital Camera
this is the new digital camera that has the screen on the front so you can see what you look like before you take the picture (so you can see if you are cutting yourself off or making a funky face). it takes great pics and is super user-friendly. even though it comes with a tutorial cd, it's easy enough that you can use it straight out of the box without having to 'figure it out'. the camera comes loaded with a ton of features which are extremely easy to figure out with the touch screen. i'm usually not one to buy first generation products, but this time i decided to take a chance and...
review »Kodak - MX1063 Digital Camera
This was the second Easy Share that was given to me as a gift. So now I am the proud owner of two of these cameras.
I have written another review on the C875, so I would like to begin by comparing the battery life of the MX1063 to the older C875 model.
I have rated this model one star higher than the C875 because it has some needed improvements over the later model. The MX1063 has a built in battery that can be charged with a USB cable to an outlet or the computer. The battery life is also quite impressive compared to the older battery eating model. The MX1063 has lasted days when fully charged,...
review »Olympus - Stylus 750 Digital Camera
This is a great little camera that I bought because I am a klutz and need one that won't smash into pieces if it gets dropped. That being said, it is a wonderful camera, that takes great quality pictures in the water, in the snow, on the beach, wherever you need to be, it can come with you and it won't break! It was also very affordable and my dad who is an avid camera kind of guy, swears by Olympus so I didn't hesitate to buy it.
That being said, I do take issue with the short time lag from when you take the shot and there is a delay. It can sometimes get a little annoying to stand and smile for...
review »Canon PowerShot G7 Digital Camera
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance
I have now taken almost 10,000 images with this camera and it has been very dependable. Great pictures with adequate light. I wish it had better low light sensitivity and the articulated lcd screen. Both of these issues have been addressed with the new G11 model. I expect to upgrade soon. The small size for such capability is important to me because I need a camera I can carry with me at all times and not feel burdened with the weight...
review »Kodak - EasyShare C300 Digital Camera
i recieved this camera as a christmas gift, but i would have gone out and bought it! It takes nice, clear photos and is easy to use. I like that it has various settings on the camera for all different situations and you can set it for just about anything! It is small, lightweight and fits perfectly into a pocket or around your wrist with the attached strap. You can use an SD card to have it hold more photos, and the battery life is long. I also like the kodak easy share software that comes with the camera-it makes for easy upload and transfer of the photos from your camera to your computer and...
review »Panasonic - Lumix DMC-TZ3 Digital Camera
Before leaving for a year abroad in France, I decided that it was time to invest in a digital camera. I knew that I would be doing a lot of traveling, and was looking for something that was light weight, sturdy, and took great pictures. That's exactly what I found with this camera. While it's a little larger than most, I liked that I could get a good grip on the camera and not have to worry about it being smushed or josteled in my bag. The pictures are incredible -- I never dreamed that I would get such good quality photos from a non-professional camera. The camera's zoom is awesome for...
review »Olympus - FE-230 Digital Camera
The Olymupus FE-230 is a great travel camera because it's compact and very easy to operate. I bring with me everywhere I go. It has a fairly decent zoom, but I would prefer something with better zoom options. Also I noticed the red eye reduction does not always work. For the most part, though, the pictures are clear and crisp. The only time I have noticed blurry pictures is when I have zoomed in too far or the lighting is too dark. It's definitely a better camera for day time events or places with good lighting. The price is very reasonable and I even bought a second one for my son.
Kodak - EasyShare C875 Digital Camera
I received this camera as a gift, and based on my experience with this camera the notion that I have about my preference for buying all electronics/technology myself has been confirmed. This is not a camera that I would have purchased on my own, nor did it exceed my expectations.
There are two major flaws with this camera:
(1) it does not have a built in rechargeable battery. The camera only takes two AA batteries. While you may opt to use your own rechargeable batteries so you can save some cash, the camera drains all of their power within 30 minutes. If you decide to invest in a better battery,...
review »Kodak - EasyShare C533 Digital Camera
This is a great little camera, however, many photos are missed due to the delayed response when snapping the picture. I realize most digital cameras have a delay, but this is about a 10 second delay which causes me to get many blurred photos due to movement. People are not used to sitting after they see the photographer snap the photo, but after the snap it still takes at least 10 seconds for the picture to capture.
I find that many of the pictures are blurred and although I adjust the setting for the type of photo I want, it doesn't always capture the best quality.
