Very short... I went to Facebook. In order to sign up, they ask for your name, email address, password, sex and birthday over a NON-SECURE web site. I accidentally stumbled onto this web site and thought I would share it. It is like the recylcler newspaper only it is called freecycle. You can post items that you are getting rid of and you can also post wanted ads for things you are looking for. The only catch is everything has to be "free" I like the fact that it keeps all kinds of things out of the landfill and it helps ease the pain of the economy. I have tried My Space, but found it to be a little "young" for me. I now have a Facebook page and am enjoying finding old friends and co workers. It's a great way to keep in touch with pictures, and blogging about what is going on in your life. I have found numerous people I have lost contact with in the past 10 years and am having a blast finding out what is going on with them and seeing pictures of their families. Although Hot Coupon World promotes that they help enforce faud, they choose what "offers" and "coupons" are listed on the board to their preference. If you do not agree with the way they think, yet you break no rules nor any of their terms of service, they will ban you. If one mod does not like you, the entire message board mod does not like you. Since I joined Facebook this spring, I have been on it almost every single day. I have met new Facebook friends from England, Canada, and the East Coast in "Fan Club" discussions about my favorite books, movies, and music. I love this site! I found it a couple of years ago, but was initally turned off by the bright orange background. Good thing I was able to over look it. The grocery forums are great. The people are super friendly. Go take a look and lerk around for a bit. You'll learn a lot and save tons of money. My family's monthly grocery budget is not $85 for a family of three. This is such a wonderful site for the moms in the Michiana area! The great moms on here share really great, valuable advice and information! There are free recipes, free classifieds, and best of all free advice! The moms on here are really caring and really care about what is best for your children and families. I found a great new foodie social website called Food Buzz. I'm not big on the social web scene. Most spaces are too random. Food Buzz is more focused. Although it covers all things related to food and eating, it does have a theme.
