Community Dark Roast Coffee —

Community Coffee is a part of Louisiana.  I live here, grew up here and have always known one coffee---> Community!  The blend was first introduced to Louisiana by Cap Saurage, a general store owner north of Baton Rouge, LA.  He offered the coffee for sale in his store which was quickly snatched up by all the locals.  The demand for it became so high that he started a delivery service in his horse drawn buggy.  And the rest of the story is a sucessful coffee business with various blends.  It is now the largest family owned coffee company in the United States!

Community Coffee Dark Roast

This coffee is sold in Louisiana and other southern states in 16 oz. bags for $4.99-5.99.  The coffee is finely ground and ready for brewing.  The dark roast  blend produces a strong and robust cup of coffee.  It is a full bodied coffee with a full but smooth flavor.

My ViewPoint

I love a rich and strong cup of coffee, especially first thing in the morning.  I'm not a morning person and I look forward to a cup of coffee to officially wake me up or start the process.  I'm usually "officially" alert after 2-3 cups and I can carry on and shrug the grouchies.  Without my coffee, it's just a blah day.

While I enjoy experimenting and trying new coffee brands and flavors, I know I can always count on Community Coffee Dark Roast to be a good quality of coffee and at an affordable price.  Community Coffee Dark Roast is always in my pantry.  It is the ONLY coffee my husband will drink.  He is set in his ways and while I may brew a flavored coffee every now and then, he will not touch it.

I really like this coffee blend and the company.  Community gives back to the community here by placing special coupons on the coffee bags.  These coupons can be redeemed by schools to purchase computers and other items needed for educational purposes.  This is an easy fund raiser for schools and usually results in classes having competitions with other classes within the school to see who can bring in the most labels!

I love this coffee.  It's rich and full of flavor.  It wakes me up and helps me function!  I give
Community Coffee Dark Roast 5 VP's!

I'm also impressed that the cost hasn't shot up on this brand. It's catching on around the country. Whenever we are traveling and say we are from Baton Rouge, LA, we often here...."did you bring any extra community coffee with you?" Very good company with morals and values :)

Hi there, I've tried just about all of them. The in-between roast and New Orleans Blend are also good if you like strong coffee. Hat's off to your grandmother drinking this stuff black! I have to have a little creamer in mine!

I like their dark roast too...pretty tasty stuff, considering the reasonable prices. (And I love their corporate attitude of "giving back to the community" --- refreshing in an era of corporate greed.)

This is great, thanks! I'm going to get one for myself, and one for my Grandmother who starts each day with a black cup of coffee ;-) I think she'll love it! I wonder if you have tried any of their other blends? I'm happy to find that they have a website too (http://www.communitycoffee.com/ccc/default.aspx)--they have a coffee club... Maybe I'll join and then write a review of my own ;-)

From a fellow coffee lover, and not some Starbuck's pop. Boy you have hit it on theh ead, discribing this great coffee. We get it when we are in Baton Rouge to take home. Husband loves it for meeting days it take the edge off the start of his day. Me it gets me wound up to clean a house in record time.
