I tried Comfortis in October 08 after not having success with Frontline Plus.  I have 2 poodle mixed dogs and one Brittany.  I gave them Comfortis about 3:30 pm.  Around 5 pm, the Brittany vomited but didn't seem sick.  I put my pets outside and watched them for a while and left them out for about 15 minutes.  When I went back out, my little "Blue" was lying in the grass.  He did not respond when I called his name.  He was very limp when I picked him up but he was alive.  My regular vet was closed by this time and called the emergency vet.  They said lethargy was a side effect.  By this time he was coming around and was very thirsty.  I had to hold his head for him to drink.

I called my vet the next morning.  She didn't think it was Comfortis but wanted me to call  Lilly drug.  Their rep said she did think it was an adverse reaction because Comfortis 'peaks' from 2-4 hours from ingestion. She said she would call and advise my vet.

I hate to have the only bad review in the bunch, but for new users, please watch your pet very closely.  Thas was a very traumatic event for me.

Comfortis was gave to both my dogs and they are still itching badly. My dogs were gave a flea bath and 3 days later are itching badly. My oldest dog is 13yrs old and didn't want to go outside and laid around quite a bit.
