Comfortis —

Comfortis is a chewable beef flavored tablet that kills fleas for a month. It starts to work in 30 minutes. I have tried all kinds of products for my dog and nothing worked. I tried frontline, advantage, dips, ect. She is an outdoor dog and the fleas were terrible. I felt so bad for her. I decided to go with the Comfortis and am so glad I did. I have not seen one single flea on her in the 7 months that I have been using it! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because she still scratches like she has fleas, though when i check her nothing is there. The receptionist at the vet office i go to says her dog does the same thing. So I dont know if it is coincidence or a side effect. Also the four stars because at first she would readily eat it like a treat but the last 2 times I have had trouble getting it down her. Its too big to swallow so I had to break it up in pieces and shove it down her throat like pills. Other than that it would get 5 stars for excellent flea control!

Your dog might just have a skin allergy. Even before my dog had fleas she had really dry, irritable skin and scratched a lot. My vet told me just to try regular Benadryl and it actually worked.

I have had great success in getting my Pit-mix to gulp ANY pill by smearing it with a generous dollop of liverwurst. No go with cream cheese, or peanut butter--- but she waits every night for her "treats", --vitamin, thyroxine, and glucosamine smeared with liverwurst. And if I am late--- she will whine to remind me! Thanks, will try Comfortis, nothing else is working.

Thanks, my doggie takes Frontline but she's an indoor dog.
