I was introduced to Comfortis from my vet.I have never heard of it before this.I was leary and trusted that they would know what's best for dogs.My dogs were so infested with fleas and they were crying in such misery.I couldn't wait any longer, seeing them suffer. I purchased 5 pills for my 5 senior dogs(3 pitbulls and 2 black lab mixes-so they are good sized dogs).I got home and went ahead and fed 4 of the dogs first thing like I was instructed to do.They told me to have the dogs take the pill with a meal and wait about 30 minutes until the fleas just start to fall out.The 5th dog, which is around 14 years old wasn't inside at the time.He was outside and always stays close by on our property so he didn't get treated at that time.I was going to do him as soon as he was back to eat his food so I could give him the pill with his food.I was skeptical about it really working that fast if even working at all like they said.Needless to say 30 minutes passed by and I looked at my white pitbull and I saw massive fleas that were dying right before my eyes.I was astonished. My other 3 dogs are dark in color so I couldn't see them like I could on my white dog but I figured this was happening to them as well. And it was because they had no more fleas when I looked at them real good in the light. The transformation was like magic and I was so impressed and excited for them to have comfort again,to be able to finally get some sleep.Things were happy until the next day.One of my pitbulls who is so strong and the healthiest of them all,was hunched over in a corner with her head all the way to the ground. She couldn't hardly walk and she couldn't lift her head up.If we would try to lift her head she would cry.She wouldn't eat, drink or go potty. She became paralysed and weighed heavily. This went on for 2 weeks thinking she was going to die or we would have to put her down. She finally started to walk around more after time and slowly came out of it and got better day to day.Thank God above

3Rd year using

5

This is the 3rd year we have used Comfortis on our dogs. We have a 10 year old pit bull mix and a year old beagle. Both spend 99% of their time outdoors and always get flea infestations. Within 20 - 30 minutes of administering Comfortis, our dogs were already beginning to show signs of fleas dying. 2 hours later and the only fleas on them were dead fleas. We have tried every other flea treatment out there and absolutely nothing else works for our dogs. They have never experienced any side effects from it. Comfortis is THE only flea treatment my family trusts! I just wish I had discovered it sooner!

DO NOT USE - MY DOG ALMOST DIED!!!!

1

DO NOT USE this medication for your animals. It almost killed my dog. He could not breathe and was trembling and I had to rush I'm to the ER. When we arrived he passed out and had to be rushed to the back and put on oxygen and other medications so he would not die. I wish I had read the reviews on all sites before I gave this to my dog. Too many animals have DIED from this medication. Side Effects Horrible side effects!!! My dog had severe side effects but there are also too many minor side effects. It is too risky to take chances if you love your pets!

Comfortis stopped the fleas when the others didn't!

Comfortis was recommended to me by my vet when I had to bring my dogs in for severe itching. I had used another popular flea medication for years with no flea problem. Smokey, our Aussie Spaniel mix, was itching uncontrollably, and actually had some infections on his skin. I had tried oatmeal baths, ointments, internet suggestions, everything I could think of. My vet told me sometimes the flea medicine I use to use may lose its effectiveness over time and that Comfortis might work better. Somkey is severely allergic to fleas, and one flea bite makes him and us miserable. Comfortis is a round liver flavored pill that is easily hidden in a piece of cheese for my dogs to chew. The dogs all know (I have five ) when it is Comfortis time, because they stand around me in a circle waiting for their "treat". I like the way they chew it up or gulp it down, no mess, no fuss, and really effective. I have no flea problem now in the house or yard, and my dogs are flea free thanks to Comfortis. Unfortunately, it costs more than the flea medicine I use to use, but, considering it works so well, it is definitely worth it. Quality of Ingredients I have never had a negative issue with the ingredients, and I purchase my Comfortis from overseas, because its cheaper. Side Effects My vet told me that Comfortis can cause stomach distress, so I need to give my dogs a snack just before they get their pill. I have never had a problem with other side effects.

Works wonderfully!!!!!!

I've been using comfortis for dogs for 2 years. I only purchase them when fleas season is here. I have one chihuaha / jack russell mix about 25lbs and one chihuaha/ rat terrier mix that is about 15 lbs. They have both done well with the medication with no Ill effects. I would recommend it unless you have a dog with physical medical conditions which you would need to discuss with your vet before using it. :)

Horrible side effects

Some of my friends recommended Comfortis, so I figured why not try it. So that I did, and Oh My God, I thought my dog was going to die. I gave the recommended does to my Chipin (chihuahua/mini pin) everything seemed fine, about an hour went by and threw up, which I read was normal. No worries. So I went to bed and she came a laid with me. I woke up in the early hours of the morning and she had used the bathroom all over my bed, I honestly don't think she could have controlled it because she just laid in it. Once I got it together and realized what was going on I moved her, cleaned her up, and changed my sheets. Then I went over to her to see what was wrong, little did I realize my dog was barely conscious and clinging to life, I could not even get her to respond to me, she was shaking, her breathing was shallow, her heart rate was low, and she was HOTT. Being that it was 3 am there wasn't much I could do til morning time. So I did what my vet always told me to do, when in dout treat your dog like it is a human, and that I did, I gave her pedilite every 5 mins. I took her to the vet and he was totally shocked by her condition, he said had I waited much longer to take her in, she would have died, and the pedilite probably saved her life in the mean time. He has no idea what caused this or why she has such a bad reaction, but he said it was common, some more severe than others. So when I got home, I did a little more research and sure enough this stuff is bad. Seems that just about all small dogs have a horrible reaction to this stuff and even die from it. Some people have said that their dog has had long term effects from it, such as not being able to stay awake, or walk properly. It is sad, so if you are second guessing this drug, please do NOT give it to your dog.

Will never use comfortis again!!!

I gave comfortis to my cat for the first time ever, two days later notice something was wrong. He was in pain, notice he wasn't able to pee. Called the vet in for emergecy, he said that the cats bladder was getting ready to burst, he had to immediately input a catheter. A week later he still has blockage, and the catheter is still in. So worry they tell me that if he not able to pee without te catheter, that he will need surgery and pretty much be turned into a female cat. My husband and I are in so much pain, we've had our cat for 8 hours and love him dearly. Just wish I knew the dangers of Comfortis!!! Never use this product again! Side Effects Vomit, nausea, drooling, kidney/bladder problems

kills almost all fleas right away

this product does a great job of killing almost all of the fleas on a dog and it does it quickly. i recently adopted 2 dogs from a bad situation and they were infested with fleas. at first i thought i could just bathe them and give them the cheaper flea stuff and it didn't work at all! i finally went to the vet and he recommended this product. i used it 3 days ago and within an hour of eating it the dogs had fleas dropping off of them. i have been monitoring the dogs and now they both seem to be just about flea free. i have seen a few on them but when i pick them off i can tell that they are dying b/c they don't move that much and they don't try to jump so i can see that the medicine does continue to kill them after the initial dose Quality of Ingredients i don't know too much specifically about the ingredients but they must be good b/c they work very quickly Side Effects i haven't noticed my dogs having any side effects from taking the medication they are both acting normally now that the fleas are gone

Comfortis is Poison

1

I gave this drug to my dog over a year ago, because my vet said it was "natural" and could not hurt her, and initially, I never had a problem with it. I stretched out the drug to only 3 times per year and she did well and had no fleas. Recently I gave her the drug again. It made her very itchy. Of course the vet denied it could be Comfortis, so I spent money ruling out other options. We thought it was fungus. 2 Months later I gave her Comfortis and she is itching again. Poor little thing. These drugs are designed to kill our pets and take our money. Quality of Ingredients contains pork, which many dogs are allergic too and bad for dogs Side Effects itching, seizures

I do not recommend this product for small dogs

I gave my Bolognese (he's over 6 1/2 lbs) one of these tablets and was surprised at the amount of vomiting it caused, but he was fine the following morning so I thought nothing more about it. The next evening he started having violent grand mal seizures and I was terrified that he was going to die. We have taken him to the vet and tests have been run on him. The vet has also seen another case of seizures in a dog after being given Comfortis, as well. My dog is still having seizures and we don't know if they will eventually subside once the Comfortis gets out of his system or not, but he will not take anymore of it. Our vet is contacting the manufacturer about this reaction. Quality of Ingredients I don't know how to rate the quality of the ingredients. I do know that my dog refused to get anywhere near the little pill and kept spitting it back out. It also smelled like mildew or something really moldy. It did not smell anything like beef. Side Effects Severe vomiting. Grand mal seizures.
