Colorado Casualty is the worst choice for auto insurance!

from Chandler, AZ

Comments about Colorado Casualty Auto Insurance:

If you are shopping for insurance and Colorado Casualty's quote is the cheapest I suggest that you pass on it and purchase the next lowest priced insurance. Paying a little extra money is worth not having to deal with the headache Colorado Casualty will probably cause you in the long run. I had personal auto insurance through Colorado Casualty from May 2008-April 2009 and I had two incidences occur while I was insured through this company that forced me to file claims through my insurance. Both instances that were NOT my fault were reported in the C.L.U.E. report as at-fault and has messed up my insurance premiums for the next 3 years.

The first incident happened in June 2008, when I was the victim of a hit and run in a Home Depot parking lot. Whoever hit me broke my rear drivers side tail light and punched a hole in the rear side of my back bumper, from what looked like the trailer hitch of a truck. I called the insurance and told them what happened, that it was a hit and run, and the insurance damage estimator came out and estimated the damages and I received a check to fix my damages.

The second incident was an accident where I was pulling out my parking spot at my apartment complex and a car came speeding around the corner, tried to squeeze behind me between my bumper and the row of cars parked behind me, and drove down the bumper of my car. He even kept driving down to the speed bump about 1000 feet down the road in the complex parking lot until I got out and yelled for him to stop and back up. Since I had not fixed my bumper from the hit and run I let the guy off the hook for the damage but he later came back after me saying it was my fault. We both went through our insurance companies and I talked to the insurance adjuster, telling him EXACTLY what happened and told him the name and phone number of the other party & the other party's insurance company. About a month or two later I receive a call and letter in the mail from the other party's insurance company who was still coming after me for the damages and apparentally hadn't heard from my insurance adjuster. I called the insurance adjuster who told me he thought it was taken care of by me so he never called them and that "he was really busy" at that point in time and he actually asked ME to do his job, the task he was supposed to have done months before, and call the other person's insurance company and get them to give my insurance a call. I told him that it was his job and he needed to take care of it. They ended up paying out over $4000 to the person who was actually at fault for the accident.

So my C.L.U.E report now shows that I have an at-fault accident that paid out $4000+ to the "victim" who was not a victim at all, and the hit and run was entered on the report as my fault as well. When my year was over with this insurance company even the insurance agency I went through notified me I had to choose a different insurance company because they were dropping Colorado Casualty from the list of insurance companies they work with because of "an extensive amount of complaints".

Do not waste your money just to cause yourself a headache if something is to happen to your vehicle or to whatever you have insured. Their business license should be taken away for sabotaging customers' driving records.
