A reliable water carrier, that packs up small(ish).

The Coleman expandable water carrier is the only thing I know that will reliably hold this much water (5gal), and then collapse to take up much less space when not in use.  It has a reliable spigot which has never leaked on me. My dad's hasn't leaked either, and he's had his for over 25 years.  The unit is collapsible, but think pizza box rather than stuff sack .

The only gripe I have is the handle.  It's sturdy enough, but  it feels kind of flimsy and, more importantly, it is too small to be able to team carry or do an easy hand off.  Doesn't seem like that big a deal until you put forty pounds... review »

The Coleman Expandable Water Carrier definitely has some flaws.  With so many other alternative water carriers on the market, Coleman needs to do some revisions to their design.  Although it is light (without water), and collapsible for easy storage, when filled it is awkward to carry.  With the light material it moves and shifts and causes balance to be thrown off while walking with the carrier.  Its cube shape also makes it difficult to carry close to you without bumping into you n at every step.  It also has a tendency to "roll around" on a flat surface making it unstable until about one... review »

compact and handy

This product came in real handy for a few differant activities for us. we took it with us on a hike in the ozarks. another time we took it camping. the third time, we used it for a birthday party. It is a great product as long as you dont try to carry it by its handle. The final time we used it, a child tried to pick it up while it was half full. needless to say the handle ripped right off. thankfully it did not rip the actual contaniner.
