While browsing through the cable guide I ran across one with David James Elliott (Detective Kurt Novak) who used to play Harmon Rabb on the series J.A.G. so I decided to tape it. It also has Nanci Chambers(Det. Andrea McInroy (Lt. Singer from J.A.G and Elliott's real life wife)). Also in the movie are Terri Farrel(Michelle Novack), Stephen Lang (Justin Shaw) along with many more.

The Plot

This is a story about a serial killer whom Kurt Novack is chasing, Novack is an FBI Agent and his partner Det. Andrea McInroy just happens to be his real life wife (Nanci Chambers). Anyway as they gather clues the killer Justin Shaw taunts him by phone, demanding he publish the crime scene pictures...This guy is sick...he poses the women and cuts parts of the pictures out. He is smart though and never leaves finger prints at the crime scenes.

Seven women have lost their lives to this sick maniac when Novack gets a call that the Australian Police have had a murder and the M.O is the same as the others so Novack is sent to investigate. Novack throws a twist into it though and takes his wife and son with him because it is spring break.

After interviewing the suspect Novack says it isn't him and the family heads home....here is where the real drama begins. You see the killer is on the plane with them on the trip home. Now I won't go spoiling this one for anybody, just let me say that it isn't a great movie but it does hold its own for a made for television police type drama. Being a big fan of David James Elliott I enjoyed it very much.

There are scenes that are disturbing but no blood and guts gore to turn your stomach. Elliott plays his FBI part very well and doesn't stray a lot from his personality that we saw in J.A.G. Neither does Nanci Chambers as she plays it straight and carries herself very well as a FBI agent.

The movie was originally scheduled for airing in late 2001 early 2002 but because of the tragic events of September 11th, 2001 it was delayed and finally aired in 2003. The running time is 85 minutes and was shot in Australia.

Bottom Line

Now this is by far no blockbuster but it does hold your interest throughout the movie. There are no dramatic explosions, gore or nudity but a fairly good plot and the actors are believable. If you're a David James Elliott fan you won't be sorry and even if you're not you should enjoy it as it is not a complicated, twisted plot line.

As a made for television movie it holds its own and was an easy watch in my opinion. Although it seems the airplane twist has been used a lot it is not all that bad in this one. I would say as far as the made for television movies goes this was a bit above average and not a waste of time.
