When i first began at Coastal Carolina University, I thought it was rather big, but I came from a rather tiny high school (with less than 400 total in attendance). But after a couple of years at Coastal, I began to notice some changes. The school was growing, and at a pretty alarming rate! I realized how small the university was when I actually started! Parking spaces became scarce. Classes filled up more quickly, and were much larger than they were when I first began. I chose the school because my parents already had a vacation home in nearby Myrtle Beach. Lots of other students chose it because of the fact that it was at the beach. They considered it a party school! I will admit that I knew of many kids with only partying on their brains. I tried to see things from more of an academic prospective. It grew as a result of both. Myrtle Beach was growing, and the school was growing right along with it. Programs were also becoming nationally accreditted, including the health promotion program I belonged to! That made me realize that even though tons of people go there to party, the education scene was also becoming a really good thing, and I'm proud to have attended there!
