synthetik, yep I have only been to a few select stores that had the inseam choices.  Usually it's just "tall, average, short" or "small, medium, large".  I don't rip out the hems, I end up having my pants hemmed!  And a lot of times those hems make the pants look ehhh when they used to look great.
