I just thought of this discussion after commenting on a review. Why oh why are sizing standards so strange for women?
1. Why is it that Women's clothes don't show the inseam and offer different inseams? I am short (5'4") and stores often say I fall into the Petite category - but newsflash - I got long legs and need a 30" inseam. Why are my only choices "petite" which is too short, "average" which is too long most the time and "tall" which is definitely too long?
2. Why are Women's pants measured in random sizes that differ store to store? My husband can walk into ANY store, look for his measurements xx" by xx" and buy pants without even trying them on. I go to one store and the sizes are "2,4,6,8", another store has "S,M,L" and yet another store has "3,5,7". Oh, and we can't forget the ones that are "3-4,5-6,7-8". What size am I? This is why I do 95% of my shopping at NY&Co, I already know my size there.
So Women, or Men, please answer... why are Women's clothing sizes so different than mens??? Any other women totally frustarted by this? Men complain that Women take FOREVER shopping, but it's no wonder when you can't even know what size to buy!
