To the Point
Anything that makes housework easier is a product I buy. In my travel trailer I have a number of canisters by different companies. The one I used last was Fresh Scent Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. I took these from home. I haven't bought them since I read the fine print. Then again I haven't finished what I have.
A Closer Look
For about $3.75 you’ll get 35 wet wipes. Each one is seven inches by 8 inches.
When used correctly they will disinfect and kill 99.9% of bacteria found in kitchens and bathrooms.
Clorox Disinfecting Wipes clean and disinfect at the same time. We are told that when I use a sponge, dishrag or even paper towel, I can spread bacteria from one surface to another. Instead of killing germs, I am pushing them around and potentially increasing the affected surface area. This I’m sure is true. However germs can be pushed around with these wipes as well depending on how they are used.
The active ingredients are Dimethyl Benzyl Ammonium Chlorides 0.145%, Ethylbenzyl Ammonium Chloride 0.145%.
Absolutely keep these out of the reach of children. They are hazardous to humans and domestic animals. It can cause eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes and clothing. Wash your hands with soap and water after handling. I actually never realized all this.
These are not flushable. Like all these products if you don’t keep the lid closed these wipes will dry out. I’ve had that happen to me before.
The wipes can be used on just about any surface except unpainted wood. The directions are on the canister so I’ll just summarize. These are not for cleaning your hands as tempting as that might be.
It is suggested that we let the surface we use these on air dry but I never thought to dry it. So if you can’t read the fine print don’t wipe the surface dry.
The wipes don’t smell badly but they don’t smell as freshly scented as I would like. They are very thin which is one reason I use them for small jobs. I must say I probably will continue to buy them. I find them just too convenient not to and I have no children at home to worry about toxic issues though I may look for others that are less harmful to my skin.
Please recycle the canister.
