Overall 4.47 of 5 view all 51 reviews

A Clorox Product that does not live up to its good brand name.
2 star rating

a pet owner, sensitive to strong fumes, not fond of cleaning, a multi-tasker, always willing to try new products
Pros

Safe for use around pets and kids, kills bacteria (maybe?), Can be Used Anywhere

Cons
There were no direct results to speak of, Seemed like glorified pool water, Not worth the price

Having been a user of several Clorox products that include their bleach, it was only a matter of time till I used the Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface Daily Sanitizing Spray. It wasn't until my office bought a bottle that I was able to use it a few times though, and I have to say I am less than impressed with the results. The spray bottle itself is a light blue color, and holds 22 ounces of the liquid. I say "liquid", because only 1 of the ingredients in the product is even listed (Sodium Hypochlorite). They instruct that you spray the intended surface with enough to make it wet, and let stand for 2 minutes. Then you wipe with a paper towel or clean dish towel. It is also advised to pre-clean an area if it is relatively dirty.

Spraying some of the Clorox Anywhere on to my desk, I let it sit for a little while, and then began wiping it up (and around) with some paper towels that I have. It should be noted that it gives off the same chlorine type smell that you would find at any pool, but that when it was wiped up, the smell went with it. Wiping up the liquid from my desk, I found that some of the paper towels were picking up dirt from the table, but I wasn't quite clear if that was the Sanitizer doing its job, or if it was just because the wetness was cleaning the dirt. After a few more uses, it became apparent that this Clorox Anywhere wasn't really going to do any deep-cleaning for me, because it didn't pick up everything off the desk.

I guess the whole intent of this product is to provide an easy to use sanitizer that can be used on just about every surface. They list that you can use it on counters, sinks, appliances, tables, bathtubs and even plastic cutting boards. This helps to remove bacteria such as salmonella and staphylococcus, just to name a few. As a sanitizer I guess the product does an adequate job, because it does indeed sanitize, but at the same time, I am expecting more from a cleaning product that I want to use all around the office. I also have no hard evidence that it was actually working in its claim to kill 99.9% of all bacteria.

While using the Clorox Anywhere Spray, it never really seemed to me like I was cleaning anything. It seemed more like I was spraying water, and then wiping it up, with no end result to prove I was doing anything more. While it may be killing germs, I am going to stick with my Lysol Disinfectant Spray which has given me vastly superior results. I find myself not recommending the Clorox Anywhere because it simply doesn't set itself apart from any other product, and isn't worth spending $5.00 on.

My friend has learned in some of her med classes that too much sanitizing is no good anyway. Kids that grow up with a mom using these sanitizing things non-stop will have a very weak immune system b/c they don't even have a chance to fight bacteria. Cleaning the old way is good enough for me :)

This is an example of a product that could be made, rather than should be made.

Yikes! I've been using the Lysol myself. Sounds like I have no reason to switch.
