As far as I know, Klonopin/clonazepam is the mildest of the benzodiazopines, a family of drugs that treat anxiety and include Xanax, Ativan, and a few others.
I began taking clonazepam after many years of being on Xanax. Xanax pretty much knocked me on my behind--I'd be sleep within minutes of taking it and groggy the whole next day. I needed something that would help my anxiety while still allowing me to function.
