Clinique 3 Step Acne System —

I'm very picky about my skin care. I have been using the same facial cleanser/scrub for 3 years, and not it has been discontinued so I went on a hunt for a new regimen that would leave me with few breakouts. I have heard great things about Clinique, so I decided to try them.

I have combination skin - very dry at first but then extremely oily after a couple of hours, whether I'm wearing makeup or not. I am using their 3 step system for #2 skin (normal/combination dry skin). Let me tell you - it takes a lot of dedication and is slightly time consuming, and I don't like that you have to use another cleanser (or a chosen Clinique one) to clean your makeup off before using the liquid soap... but I've liked the results so far.
I was skeptical at first, because it leaves my skin very soft but after the moisturizer in step 3 my skin feels a little oily, which concerns me because of how naturally oily I get already.  I've been using for 2 weeks and have had very few breakouts, so it has proven to be effective so far.

3 steps, twice a day - Step 1) Facial soap (bar or liquid - I prefer liquid). Step 2) Clarifying Lotion (sort of like a toner), and Step 3) Dramatically different moisturizing lotion.

Again, takes a while since you have to use twice a day. But I think that if you give it a chance and regularly use it twice a day for a few weeks, you'll either like what you find or you'll know it's not for you. It's impossible to judge unless you use it consistantly how it's supposed to be used. Even though the moisturizer made my face feel oily when I use it, I do not have more oil during the day and have not been breaking out... so it does seem to be pretty magical.

A pro - Not THAT expensive. Yes, when you buy each piece it does add up. However, the face soap was about $11.50, the step 2 lotion was about $15.00 and the moisturizer I purchased was $24.00 but I got the most expensive and largest kind. They have smaller sizes. Also, I went when they were doing a promotion so with each item that I purchased I got 2 free sample sizes of the 3 step system, so I ended up with 6 free samples when I left - 2 of each step, which will make this last much longer.
