Clearplay - CP 007 USB DVD Player —
The Clearplay - CP 007 USB is wonderful for people who are concerned about the amount of immorality contained in todays movies. Our family avoids swearing, immodest clothing, sex outside of marriage, and excessive violence, and we don't want to watch movies that glorify these things. Since we love movies, Clearplay has provided us the opportunity to watch what we want without worrying that our standards will be compromised. This is the second Clearplay DVD player that we have owned (we only upgraded to be able to take advantage of the great USB download system in the new ones) and we will never have another type of DVD player in our home. We recommend Clearplay to all of our friends if the subject of movies comes up.The player comes with a USB flash drive (they call it a filter stick) that makes downloading filters extremely fast and easy. We thought it was actually inside the box when we first brought ours home, but the company mails the filter stick when you register your DVD player. It was a minor inconvenience--minor because we had another flash drive we could use until the "official" one came.
The price of the Clearplay CP 007-USB is very attractive. Target sells it for about $50, or it can be ordered directly from the Clearplay website. To continually access new filters, you must subscribe to the service. We think it is well worth the expense.
The filters for new release DVDs are usually available the Friday after the movies come out. The list of older movies is constantly growing. One feature that we have liked and used is the request form. Occasionally they will not have a filter for a movie or the version of the movie that we have, but have eventually provided it.
We did have an issue with the first CP 007 player that we purchased from Target, but the customer service representative at Clearplay was extremely nice and helpful, and they shipped us a new one, which has worked perfectly ever since.
Overall, if you love movies but hate the "adult" content, Clearplay has a DVD player for you!
