One time before I started to get some gray hairs I tried to dye my hair.  It really did not go so well, the dye got all over the towel I was wearing and I accidentally squirted some dye on to the carpet behind me, which was a really bad thing because it was almost impossible to get out, if you look really hard you will still see the stain there.

When I started to get grays a couple of years ago it was only a couple at a time and I would just yank them out. But then more started to pop up.  It is not so bad that I need to dye my entire head to cover them, but they are a little notifiable up in the roots and at the temples, actually you can only see the ones on my temples if I wear a pony tail, and since I am a busy work at home mom of three I wear pony tails a lot.

So when I first saw the commercial for Root Touch up a little over a year ago I thought that I really needed to try that.

Clairol's Nice 'N Easy Root Touch Up comes with a plastic mixing bowl. gloves, an application brush and the dye and the activator.  you simply open the activator and the dye and pour them in to the little plastic mix bowl and then mix together using the brush.  Once they are all mixed together completely then you can start painting it in to your root area and temple area (make sure you are wearing the gloves).  There is no problem with making a mess because you are not squirting you are painting it on with the nice brush that kind of resembles the shape of a disposable raiser, it is easy to hold and helps you put the die on accurately.

What is also nice is that if you buy the color closest to your natural hair color it will blend in to your natural hair color.  if you have short hair you could probably die your entire head, there is always a good amount left over when I am done.

After you paint it on leave it on for 10 minutes and then rinse it out. You just rinse until you no longer see color in the water as it goes down the drain, then dry and style as usual.  Your grays will be gone or if you are dying your roots in between hair colorings your hair will once again be all one color.

Clairol Nice 'N Easy Root Touch up is not expensive either it costs about $6.99 and you can find coupons for it in the paper and a lot of times inside the the box.

The only complaint I have is that sometime really stubborn grays I have like three hairs that are really stubborn and the will only stay colored for a few days then the white starts to appear again, they will still stay colored but they are obviously lighter than the others, that probably is not noticable to anybody but me because I know they are there.

I am really grateful for this product.  It helps me to keeps the grays away with a lot of work or a big mess.  I don't have a lot of time to dye my hair so it really helps that it only takes 10 minutes to do, I also don' really want to put hair dye on all of my hair if it does not really need it.  It is very convenient and easy to use and will save you trips to the salon to get touch ups.
