Several months ago I bought a box of hair color by Clairol Nice 'n Easy.  Yeah, I cheated on my faithful L'Oreal Excellence Creme and decided to go with a cheaper brand.  I won't do that again but I did discover a wonderful conditioner.  A 1.96 oz tube of Clairol Nice 'n Easy ColorSeal Conditioning Gloss can also be bought separately for about $4.

I can't even begin to describe how wonderful it smells and the results?  Well, you feel as if you just stepped out of a salon.  You only have to leave the conditioner in for about two minutes so I generally put it in after shampooing and then go about bathing while it does its job.  The ColorSeal Conditioning Gloss goes on smooth and creamy.  It doesn't weigh your hair down either.  It doesn't claim to be a detangler but I have long hair and I can usually run a big toothed comb thru my hair after rinsing and it is tangle free.  The scent lingers in your hair for 24-48 hours.  Every time my hair moves I can smell the soft gentle aroma and boy does your hair shine!  The scent is that of a tropical island.

This conditioner is great for color-treated hair because it promises to seal your color so that it lasts longer and when we pay big bucks to have our hair professionally colored we want it to last, right?  I use it even when I'm not coloring my hair because I love the aroma and the gloss.  The package recommends that after coloring you use this once a week to seal in the color and to prevent your hair from fading so quickly.

Ingredients:

Water, Amodimethicone, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Glutamic Acid, Fragrance, Benzyl Alcohol, Panthenyl Ethyl Ether, EDTA, Panthenol, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Carthamus Tinctorius Seed OiI (Safflower), Cocos Nucifera Oil (Coconut), Hydrolyzed Sweet Almond Protein, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf

Don't use the Clairol--that stuff dyes the skin a dreaded black and purple. Go after the L'Oreal Excellence Creme. It cleans off the skin better; doesn't seem to stain as bad. You can get it for about $7 a box and it has a great conditioner with it.

I've been finding more and more gray hairs over the last few months. I'm not even 30 yet. It's so annoying. . . I'll have to break down and get a bottle of Clairol soon! Looks like I'll be buying this product to accompany it!

I probably use it about twice a week now and I don't color my hair on a regular basis. I just love the scent and it does make the hair shine!!

I'm with Patty, I didn't know this could be brought separate from the hair color. I may need to look into this ;+) Thanks for sharing this information.

Sounds like cheating on your old hair color resulted in a happy accident. :)

I didn't know you could buy this separately. Interesting!
