I just had to share this and get the word out. The site has a lot of information on it and if you qualify they will help you get proof of your Canadian citizenship.
Apparently between the years 1948 and 1977 many Canadians were naturalized in the U.S. The new law "fixes" this problem.
Eligible individuals automatically become Canadian citizens...but they don't automatically get their proof so they must visit this site for the application. And apparently Canadian citizenship is also automatically handed down one generation....
This is where it get's personal: My dad was born in Canada and in the year 1976 he was "naturalized in the U.S." So he automatically qualifies for his Canadian citizenship and apparently so do I. My mom called me the other night and the first thing she said was... "Guess what? Your Canadian!" I thought she was joking. But then she read something she had been sent from another family member...something from the Wall Street Journal. It had just enough information on it to lead us to this site.
There is also a video that was posted on youtube. Look up "Waking up Canadian" it's a funny video.
So if you think you qualify....Check it out!
