Citibank - Platinum Visa Review

The Citibank-Platinum Visa was the first credit card that I ever received.  I have been a card member since 2005 and have used this card for many major purchases including airplane tickets.  Upon enrolling in college, I was a little wary of getting a credit card but I knew that this card would be a great way to establish some credit.  The customer service department has been very helpful and polite.  I have been able to speak with a representative about getting my APR rate reduced.  

The customer service department has also been very proactive in preventing identity theft.  I recently attempted to make purchases from two Walmarts within a 30 minute span of time.  The first purchase was processed without incident.  The second purchase was rejected.  When speaking with the customer service department, I was informed that the company rejected the transaction over fear that the credit card was stolen.  I was grateful for the company's monitoring system and was able to complete the second transaction after verifying some personal information.

Of the credit cards that I currently hold, this card has the highest credit limit; this high credit limit can be tempting to use especially when shopping.  It can be very easy to get into debt with this card if you are not carefully monitoring your statement and purchases.
