Regarding all credit cards (6 total): 5 from Citi, one from Chase:
We use them to accumulate miles, get rewards in $50 installments for using them for groceries, gas, electronics, hotel stays purchases; you can accumulate your reward $$, if you pay your monthly bills for internet, TV, telephone, including cell, etc.
Remember - be smart and don't allow credit cards issuers to impose interest, and very high one in most cases - pay your amount due in full. If you have several cards, you can manage due dates for each of them by spreading dates evenly for each month and charging your cards approximately equally. Manage your card statements on the internet and establish automatic payments at due date for each of them. By doing this, you will never miss your payments (in full), making sure that your checking account has enough money to pay each bill. For over 25 years of having credit cards, we have never paid a penny in interest. You can do the same, but it requires to be very discipline.
