Citi - Shell Gas MasterCard —

Without any warning or notice Citi canceled my Shell credit card.  Payment were always on time and over the minimum, and balance was about half the limit.  But that wasn't good enough for them.  Their decision was based entirely on their credit score for me.  So good ridance.  I'll buy my gas elsewhere.

Same story on link above from MSNBC. Ticking off lots of people.

I got the same story, so I pulled my report, nothing bad on it. I was thinking maybe id fraud. Nope. It just seems like an excuse to dump folks like me who paid in full each month, banking about $25/month in Shell gas rebates. I've already switched to using my Chase BP Visa. It's not as convenient, but, if I have to do a bit more work to save my 5% on gas, so be it.

I've already spent close to $100 on fuel since I found out on 10/15 that they closed my account on 10/14 without warning.

Perhaps that's why Chase had a good quarter and Citi didn't last quarter. Chase is doing a much better job of keeping customers satisfied.

My Citi Shell Mastercard was closed without warning as well, after attempts to use it at a restaurant and a discount store resulted in the card being declined. I was told that my account was closed on October 14th due to something Citi pulled up on my Equifax credit report. I pulled up all 3 credit reports; Equifax was the only one of the 3, ironically, to still list my Shell account as "open". Experian and Trans Union listed the account as "closed at card issuer's request". I will no longer use Citi credit cards or buy Shell gasoline as a result of this stupidity. Apparently Citibank NA used the "Experian" excuse to close thousands of Shell Mastercard accounts this week, since we aren't the only ones complaining. I have seen posts on other forums about this matter.
